Phenomenal late night delivery ordering. I made a late night delivery order through Skipthedishes and it was absolutely fantastic. The great Sals Nip to your door quickly and maintaining a high quality of food even through delivery. No condensation-ridden fries or bun, which is the nasty-norm when ordering this kind of food for delivery.

I even had a special request that wasn't available through their menu options (I am told they are going to update this to be able to upgrade your fries to a poutine) and this Sals went above and beyond to fulfill that request at a reasonable upgrade charge.

Highly recommended and I will definitely be coming back.

Downgraded my rating from 5 stars to two as I must have jinxed the place with my glowing review above. Since then I have ordered, or tried to order, another 6 or 7 times and either they had been closed from ordering at odd times for whatever reason, or the order has been terrible, or wrong.

I have never been able to get chili cheese fries again, they now just send you a cup of chili and a cup of unmelted cheese, or worse just screw it up and send you a cup of chili and a cup of gravy (not sure what kind of monster would use that combo on an order of fries). The portion of fries has been slashed in half, and when I tried to add an extra patty to the burger, my bill jumped by 8$!

I may try this place again in a pinch, but it has certainly dropped from being a place that I can recommend to anyone.

This was my 2nd visit to your store. Ordered the identical meal both times Mr Big Nip platter. The comparison between the 2 visits was huge when it came to the food. 1st the coleslaw on the first visit was delicious, nice and creamy - the 2nd visit received a coleslaw that was okay but not creamy more like an oil & vinegar type. The burger on the first visit was thick a full pattie that you could identify from all edges. I was actually biting into a decent size pattie cooked to perfection. I thoroughly enjoyed. That was the reason why we went back the delicious burger. Not what we got on the 2nd visit. It was on a Tuesday and strongly believe that the meat portion was made for a child's burger with all the components of a Mr Big. The meat pattie barely covered 1/2 the bun and the thickness was maybe 1/8 in thickness. My comment - do not go there on a Tuesday as they stretch the meat. If going on a Tuesday I would order from their special instead of paying full price and receive the special. It was very busy in the restaurant and received excellent service. It was actually the same waitress both times. I did not complain it wasn't her fault. It lies on either the chef or management. ...

March 2023 I wanted to try this restaurant as it has been in business since 1931, and known as a Winnipeg institution. Large menu, and great prices. Not a fancy place, but the food is good. Nostalgic interior with posters and memerobilia everywhere. On the menu is a "silver" section for meal deals for seniors. For $15 or less, you get a non alcoholic drink, your meal, and dessert. That's quite the deal. Our waitress that day wasn't the best. Non attentive, and unfriendly. At one point, we thought that her shift had ended, but she for whatever reason was not serving us anymore. Weird! Yet, we then saw her working behind the counter. We had to ask a different waitress for the bill. No asking us if we were interested in ordering dessert. They are also known for their wafer pie which is like flapper pie. A graham wafer crust with a custard filling topped with meringue. Upon leaving, perhaps the Manager, was super friendly, customer oriented, and made up for the negative experience with our waitress. We enjoyed our meal, despite the poor service, and our exit because of the Manager. I love restaurants with a history like this one. Not too many like this...
