I am a big fan of Stella”s. We often visit Osborne and Sherbrooke and never disappointed. So we were quite excited to get our “fix” upon our return trip over the holidays (Jan 01 7 pm) and decided to grab a bite at airport before heading home. Not sure if it was because of NYD but the chicken provolone sandwiches we ordered were made with the most stale and dry bread. We asked our waiter to take the bread back to kitchen and we saw him show manger. We expected “Muriel” to drop by our table and apologize and even blame the rate NYD holiday as why fresh baked bread was not available. He tried so hard not to make eye contact. Sad !! Beside that the chicken was so dry and crumbled as bad as bread. Furthermore replacing chorizo for chicken on the nachos cost us $5.00 more. So you take the chorizo off and still charge us $5.00 more for adding chicken. On a very small plate by the way. Nachos is not your forte. Lesson learned. Just be honest with us. Instead he ignored us and waiter told us upon receipt of bill that they deducted $5 from our $47 bill. Just disappointing Customer service from “ignoring Manager” and disappointing dinner. Shame - I talk about Stella’s wherever I go around the continent. Most proud of our world class establishments we have in our city. Protect your brand Stella’s. Don’t slip and remind your staff to deliver world class honest service...
Read moreDuring a dark three day layover in Winnipeg, Stella’s was a high point! Their local “Good Neighbour” beers were delicious. I highly recommend the Czech Pale Lager, and also thoroughly enjoyed the Blueberry Blonde. I wasn’t overly hungry, but find that airports cut you off earlier than regular establishments. I ordered the Chili, to provide some substance to my tab/bill, in order to continue enjoying the fabulous beer. My server, Sydney, was incredible. I never went empty, and she also sold me on the chili. The chili was served with a Caesar, which was delicious. Garlic toast also came with it. For a traveller, who frequents airports almost weekly for work, I was impressed with how much food I received for 21 bucks! To cap my visit off, there was a beautiful sunset, which I’ve included in the pics.
In 20 years of layovers in Winnipeg, it’s strange that the two most beautiful things I’ve seen here, were both on the same stay over. The second most beautiful was the sunset. The first, was the woman pouring my beers. Will def make this my layover lounge for...
Read moreDropped off a relative at departure, I noticed that Stella’s were open again cause I think they closed down for a bit? Anyways, I don’t know if I came at a time it wasn’t busy but right away the server noticed me coming feets away and was already prepared to seat me. Being there felt truly modern, I love my jazz music and it’s what they were playing the whole time. Server by the name of Thessa was truly accommodating. She didn’t let me wait long, right away offered me coffee and got to it right away! Food was amazing, tasted great and presentation itself was wonderful. Majority of servers makes you feel as if they are only there to take your orders, put on a fake smile and just be there. Thessa was the server in a long time that actually makes conversations with you and seems to be interested to what you have to say. And I truly believe she enjoys her job there. Definitely coming back because of the impression that Stella’s gave me with their food and...
