If I could give this place -50 stars, I absolutely would. From the moment we walked in, the staff was unwelcoming, and that set the tone for the entire nightmare of an experience. The menu was confusing, with no indication of how many pieces came with each item, and when we asked for clarification, the staff gave us vague, unhelpful answers. After a ridiculously long wait, we finally received our food—if you can even call it that. The shrimp tempura? One single, sad, oil-drenched shrimp that was soggy and tasteless. The crab nigiri? A laughably tiny portion of rice, smaller than my pinky, with a disgusting, watery, completely flavorless piece of crab on top. The so-called "crab salad"? An absolute joke. Instead of an actual crab salad, they gave us one lonely imitation crab stick thrown on top of a pile of lettuce, shredded carrots, and some sauce—nothing more than a dressed-up bowl of vegetables with a single crab stick as decoration. The fish overall? Absolutely not fresh. It had that awful texture and taste that immediately tells you it should not be eaten. The rice smelled strongly of vinegar, the rolls were filled with crunchy bits instead of actual seafood, and there was barely any shrimp or crab inside, just filler. On top of that, we didn’t even get basic essentials like wasabi and ginger—something that any real sushi place would know is non-negotiable. The atmosphere was just as bad as the food; the entire place smelled like used oil, the menu was unclear, and when we asked about the price in case we couldn’t finish our meal, the waiter refused to give us a direct answer. Speaking of service, it was one of the worst I’ve ever seen—the waiter literally slammed the glasses of water onto our table without even looking at us, and after making us wait an absurd amount of time for our order, they suddenly decided to inform us that one of the dishes we ordered was "out of stock"—all while serving plates to people who walked in long after us. And the best part? We paid $60 for this disaster. For that price, we could’ve gone to an actual sushi restaurant, gotten fresh, high-quality fish, and left satisfied instead of feeling completely ripped off. We originally wanted to go to another buffet, but since it was closed, we gave this place a shot based on its 3.9-star rating. That rating is beyond misleading. If you care about fresh fish, decent service, or just an overall good dining experience, do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this place.

Really terrible experience tonight, went with a bunch of friends for a night of sushi. We ordered nearly 15 dishes, and the 10 that arrived were absolutely delicious. The sashimi and the salmon rolls were top notch, along with the tempura. We enjoyed everything we were served. The food was absolutely excellent, and I want to acknowledge it. However the issues began right after that, with the service. 5 dishes never arrived, and the person who ordered them in our party waited nearly 1.5 hours (asking the staff multiple times in the meantime what the status of our order was) before they acknowledged that nothing else was on its way. We tried to make a second round of orders, and it took another 30 minutes for them to take the order and bring out the first dish, we weren’t given any information or even an apology. I would completely understand if there was some communication, letting us know it was a busy night, but we remained in the dark the entire evening. Once again, food, absolutely top notch. The service was what made our evening an absolute drag. Also there was a mouse/bug trap hanging around on the floor? Three of us accidentally stepped on it, and got sticky bug stuff all over our shoes.

It’s unfathomable how a business is dedicated to conning consumers. People work so hard for their money and they come here for a refreshment and craving fix working breaking the wallet - still with that is a disaster and disappointment.

First of all for those anyone who is saying you get what you get for an all you can and expect nothing less than perfect. We’ll try Ye’s buffet and IGI they are hands down the best in town. But this SUSHI GEN restaurant should be shut down. The menu, the food, the lack of effort put both in taste, service, and culture is just so filthy.

I cannot believe they charge $26+tax per adult to eat the kind of food we just ate there. VOLCANO roll is stuffed with tempura crumbs and that was it! Everything they promise you here is pure fillers to make you so full so far your money is down the drain. Aside from unfriendly staff, always peeking through your table if you’re hiding your food in the garage or your bag, their food is just so badly made. How are you guys sleeping at night knowing you are coming people.

The menu lacked diversity, good options, etc. Such a disappointment restaurant. Japanese is all for passion and this restaurant is just so hideous.

If you’re seeking to save money but craving sushi, seriously pay that extra $$ just to get some quality food. This restaurant was given a chance 3 times by me thinking the last is a charm. NO, not one bit. Just a terrible disappointment money grab highway roberry.

For those who think that sashi is worth it here, please just YouTube or google what they do with salmon before they serve it. They full out soak it in water so the salmon becomes fatter and filling. You’re not really getting that 100% salmon it’s all water so you can get full faster.

Anyways. Not recommend one bit. As a matter of fact. HATE this place...

Very bad experience today. Went with a group of friends for my friend’s birthday. Placed our order, had food coming out a few dishes at a time (which was all tasty, although a couple things arrived that we had NOT ordered)… then waited and waited for the rest to come out.

Nothing came. We asked if the rest was coming, eventually the waitress said no, nothing else and we got a new menu. We placed a second order, basically trying to get all the things they had missed. No big deal, mistakes happen right? But the second order also failed to arrive aside from 2 very small dishes. We were the first table seated on that whole side of the restaurant but still stuck there without our food.

We complained to no avail, and were told that some of the items we ordered were “not on the menu anymore”, which is extremely frustrating when not told that at the time of order. They claimed we got everything else which was not true at all. After we said we were done, we wanted to leave and wanted a discount as we certainly hadn’t had nearly all we could eat… the response was very poor. They finally came out with the rest of the second order, trying to get us to take it after we cancelled it. We wanted to speak to the manager and they never came to speak to us. They gave a measly 5% discount and eventually comped the meal of the birthday girl who got almost NO food.

I think we were more than patient and fair, and they didn’t own their mistakes at all. Honestly, this poor service with missing items happened last time we were here, gave them another chance but it was even worse this time. They need to get their service and menu figured out. Will not...
