Honestly haven't been here in years. But I can say compared to how it was years ago the quality in service as well as the food has taken a massive decline.
Mother ordered chefs salad wolithout radishes. When it came it had onions (chef assumed she wanted raw onions instead) with her iced tea.
Father ordered giant apple pancake. Waitress apologized because it fell out of the oven so it was piled on his plate. And he orders a coffee. Gets his coffee bit he asked for cream gets no cream. Asks for cream waitress walks by half dozen times so he calls her over and asks for his cream. (She completely forgot he asked before and says sure I'll get you cream) not sorry I forgot I'll get your cream right away.
I ordered a cup of soup to start with the champion burger and add a side ceaser salad.
Soup comes first was good. Then comes my burger. Compared to how it used to be this was not the food I rembered. As it used to be a good size and I'd be full. This was smaller then a cheeseburger from McDonald's. The bun was clearly frozen because it was burnt on the inside yet was super soggy. And I had a side ceaser but no fries. And I ordered a half iced tea half lemonade. I got straight lemon juice and squeezed lemon with barely iced tea was so sour it was undrinkable. Asked waitress if she could bring a glass of iced tea so I could try adding some of the sour lemon juice to it to make it taste somewhat like it was supposed to. She brings me a half full glass and said here is the half glass you asked for. (I had asked for a full glass)
Then the bill came. My iced tea they attempted to charge for apple juice my burger that came with no fries they charged me for the fries. And then argued at the register when I explained I had no fries.
Terrible service, overpriced food, and the quality was very very poor. Considering the average price was about $15 I expected better.
Needless to say I highly recommend getting breakfast from a fast food restaurant in the area instead because you might actually be...
Read moreThe service was very good. The food was tasty, hot and well presented for the most part. So why the low rating?
The "hashbrowns" on their menu are not hashbrowns but breakfast potatoes. True hashbrowns are shredded potatoes that are fried. They serve little cooked potato chunks which are called breakfast potatoes. Although lately more and more restaurants serve breakfast potatoes and call them hashbrowns, I call that practice lazy and unprofessional.
So disappointed by having no real hashbrowns, I opted for a Reuben Sandwich with a bowl of chicken noodle soup.
The soup was tasty and hot.
The Reuben was missing the sauerkraut! Oh there were a few whisps of sauerkraut mixed in with the meat, but you had to look for it and you definitely couldn't taste it. There must be equal portions of the meat and sauerkraut for it to be a Reuben Sandwich. At the very least you should be able to taste the sauerkraut.
And then I had tea. It was perfect until the server asked if I would like a refill. I said yes. Well, that turned into a hot, tasteless, colorless cup of tea because they did not replace the bag. Do coffee drinkers get a fresh cup of coffee or hot water added to coffee leftovers?
When I pointed out the colorless water to her, she asked if I wanted another teabag. Well, if I want more tea, I need another tea bag!! Coffee drinkers get a fresh cup of coffee! Why do tea drinkers get less?
I realize that my complaints are about things that are common practice in the restaurant business. But really, those practices just show how little care goes into serving the customer.
Well, next time I will go to Perkins where I will be served like a...
Read moreI had lunch at the Clarion hotel location. I ordered the classic eggs benedict with soft poached eggs. When I got my lunch I realized that the eggs were undercooked, even to soft standards. They were still quite slimy, which made them very difficult to eat. The server we had recognized this immediately and took them back to the kitchen. She did ask if I would like new ones, which I declined because I had to get back to work. She was kind enough to remove my coffee from my order but did not explain that it was equal to a 30% discount. When you can't eat half your lunch, a free coffee doesn't seem quite sufficient. Had she explained that it was equal to 30% of my bill, everything else that happened after could have been avoided. The server went to speak with the manager on duty. His name is Ray. He literally came stomping to our table and stood over me and demanded to know why a 30% discount was not sufficient. I was trying to answer and let him know that I didn't realize it was 30% but he interrupted me continually and made me feel very uncomfortable. I also tried to tell him that I would take care of the remainder of the bill, now that I understood the 30%. At one point, my friend had chimed in and he put his hand up and said that he was not talking to her. He made the whole table feel uncomfortable and I felt quite bullied. The man is twice my size and literally stood over me at the table. He did take care of my bill but made it feel as though I was a hassle and an inconvenience, rather than a...
