I’ve visited this store multiple times over the past two months, always enjoying the food. But today’s experience changed everything.
I ordered my usual #3 Green Curry with beef, requesting no basil, extra eggplant, and more rice. The staff, usually friendly, firmly stated that everything comes in standard portions unless I paid extra—$2.79 for more rice and an additional charge for extra eggplant.
When my meal arrived, it had lots of green peppers and onions but no eggplant. When I pointed this out, the staff confidently insisted green curry includes eggplant—until she checked and saw it was missing. Without an apology, she added just 3–4 tiny pieces. I questioned why there was so little eggplant when it’s listed on the menu, yet green pepper and onion—which aren’t listed—dominated the dish. She claimed all curries include them, and if I didn’t want them, I should’ve specified.
When I pointed out that the menu never mentions green pepper and onion, she argued and even pulled out a company recipe. She then told me to refer to the picture on the screen as proof that everything looks as shown. Really? If the picture is the standard, why was there no red pepper? Why was my rice portion much smaller? Why was it not soaked in curry like before?
After the frustrating back-and-forth, another male staff stepped in and kindly offered to remake my meal. However, the portion of eggplant was still disappointingly small.
I have no idea what was wrong with the staff today, but she made this experience unbearable.
Thai Express needs clear policies:
If a customer removes certain ingredients, can they get more of others? Can a customer ask for just a bit more rice without buying an extra bowl? What is the standard "regular" portion of rice, and how is consistency ensured?
I may check the St. Vital Centre location, but I hope no one else has to deal with this level of...
Read moreWent there today on my lunch break and had some of the rudest customer service I've ever had. I've worked retail for 10+ years and in management and I gotta say only way that service could have been worse is if the person working the counter told me to f off. There was no one in line, and I even waited until she showed she was ready instead of just walking right up. Stated my order which I've had before several times and she abruptly stops me telling me no. Me being confused I try to politely ask why as I've had it before but I just get interrupted and more No's. Not that it wasn't in stock or anything, just telling me no and starting to yell at me. All I wanted was the sweet chili sauce with my order, and I get yelled at and told I can't have that sauce with that it can only be had with something else but I couldn't understand as she has as yelling and talking fast. Needless to say, I left and am not going back there ever again. The impression I got today was that I was not welcome there whatsoever. Which is a shame as I love the food and have had great service before. Would give 0/5 if I could. Giving 1 star...
Read moreToday July 12 at around 11:30 I went to the restaurant to have lunch. We were served by a lady who at first made us wait for several minutes not with a customer but doing her thing. When we asked to be served she responded by asking us what we wanted with an angry voice .the first thing that came to my mind to not order any thing and go somewhere else. But since me and my friend really wanted to have the fried rice, we ordered. I ordered my meal extra spicy but got a very plain one. Asked another male server to make it spicy but got a burned meal. I am very disappointed with your food and service. I used to love the food but what I had today is not anything like...
