The Pizza Oven — Restaurant in Winnipeg

I live not to far from this and have wanted to try.. mind you seeing the recent reviews you can tell someone is slacking on their job and possibly the owners on their employees, but I thought.. you can't believe everything you read and maybe it was just the couple times, seeing that the previous reviews were great.

So I ordered the wings and pizza deal, paid 5$ extra for 2 toppings, and wasn't told that if I purchase the pizza I created in specialty and the wings that it would be cheaper (so terrible selling and helping the customer) I asked for both teriyaki and Buffalo wings, lol I am not sure I can say what they were as there was next to no sauce on them. So plain?

They were also not cooked, biting into one I immediately seen pink!! So not only are they going to rob you.. lol they will also poison you by not adhering to safe food protocols and sending out basically raw chicken.

Now for the Pizza, the comment stating the crust tastes like flour and water is correct.. I had bacon and pepperoni with mushroom (the masterpiece) the bacon was in strips which I appreciate, everyone haaates bacon crumble (what even is it!?) BUT it too was uncooked, the bacon was super fatty chunks and very pink.

I am highly disappointed and will never order from here again unless I receive my 40 back from the one pizza and wings that made me sick for 2 days and I couldn't work.

Been searching for a pizza joint that makes good pizza at a decent price, but too many places give you one or the other, not both. The Pizza Oven is better than most chains but not as pricey as most "gourmet" pizza places. The dough is slightly chewy (just how I like it!) but not tough. The sauce is tangy and unique. A nice flavour that adds to the pizza, but doesn't overpower. Just enough cheese for my taste, but if you like your pizza cheesy, make sure to ask for extra. Generous toppings. Meats tasted fresh. Veggies were tasty too. Pizza was cooked just the right amount of time. Just enough "char" to add to the flavour without being overdone. We also tried the cheesy bread, which was a nice, tasty and filling accompaniment to the main order. Basically think of a cheese pizza cut into strips with a bit of garlic but no sauce. It's not the cheapest pizza outlet around, but it's not the most expensive either, and I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". They have some pretty good combo offers available, which only add to the value. Make sure to take advantage. It was fairly busy the night we were there, which is usually a good sign, and the entire staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. Everyone seemed to be enjoying what they were doing. You’ll love The Pizza Oven! We’ve been fans since they started back at The Norvilla. Even with location and owner changes it continues to be absolutely fantastic (maybe even better)! Always fresh, fabulous deals, excellent selection and service, loyalty reward points that add up so quickly, website that’s so easy to navigate, no long waiting times, the best sauce (choice of the sweet original (yum), and above all else pizza that tastes homemade EVERY SINGLE TIME! We order regularly so we can attest to their quality. My husband is a major pizza guy so we’ve tried almost every pizza place here over the past 26 years. That says something when he asks for The Pizza Oven every week! I’ve attached some photos. The pizza’s so good everyone got to it before I could take a full photo of the whole pie. Update on Sept. 27/2025: Pizza has gotten even better! The toppings are overflowing and right to the crust (love that)! They take note of requests too. We’ve tried the Colossal and it is AMAZING! You’re full after one piece. Now we’re ordering the More Meat and Hawaiian Speciality and oh man are they good.
