We stopped in on a Friday and there were only three tables available when we arrived. We thought service might be slow but it was efficient. People seemed happy with their meals at all the tables around us. We ordered by writing our choices on a slip of paper. The waitress quickly brought us ice water and complementary bowls of consommé soup. Quickly enough our eggrolls arrived. They are pretty full but mostly beans sprouts. Supper arrived soon after those were finished and everything was hot and tasty. The ginger beef was pretty much the best we’ve ever had. The lemon chicken was three good size breasts, slightly breaded, and fried and served with a bowl of their house-made lemon sauce, which is lemony and not too sweet. Finally, we tried the walnut shrimp based on another review. They are breaded and fried and served in a creamy sauce and sprinkled with candied walnuts. We would order all three again. While we were there the restaurant completely filled. The phone rang multiple times with orders and at least five pickup orders went out the door. The staff did not seem to miss a beat. It is not fancy but it’s comfy and we were glad we had given it a chance. The front entrance could use a tidy up and parking on the street seems adequate. We will...
Read moreThe food you will get will be fresh, abundant, and fast.
You will not find empty space in your containers when you order take out which is very nice. The cost is a bit higher than others but the quality is good.
I do dock points for the restaurant never providing a menu on it's website and/or google maps page. I heard another customer call in upset the total price of food was $20 more than what they read on the menu. The person at the front explained the menu online is out of date, is not expected to be up to date, and the prices change monthly so it is best to come in person before ordering to get the correct prices. Restaurants in the modern age should provide prices online if they are in the business of selling orders over phone. Which is why I am including a scan of the menu. Something the restaurant should provide each time prices change.
Other than deceptive prices. The honey garlic veal is sweet and plentiful. The orange almond chicken was crispy and both tangy but sweet. And the veggies were fresh not soggy.
If you would rather order in person and wait in person I would...
Read moreFirst time ordering from there. Picked food up Friday after work. Was not going to post but because I’m throwing out more than half of my order after trying to choke it down the last 3 days I thought I would share my experience. The only positive thing I have to say is that the portions are huge. I ordered the ginger beef and Shanghai noodles with chicken. The beef was a soggy mess. This is usually my favourite dish from other Chinese food restaurants. The noodles were so overcooked that I really did not have to even chew them. Made me want to gag. I tried to eat them cold the next day as they were a bit firmer that way. I don’t like throwing food out, especially in this economy. I tried to eat it again over the next couple of days (Saturday and Sunday), but ended up feeding what was on my plate to my dog. She...
