Even if renovated, this place is located in the most questionable street of Winnipeg, Sargent, infamous for all the trap houses that exist in the area. As it is, the place is very run down. Inside looks as the remains of a formerly nice place with a tarmac or podium for artists or speakers. It is still used as a fundraiser venue for non profits. I do not understand how or why this places remains open for business, when it is obvious that it is not making much of a business. Sure, you can still find some beer, but that's about it. Maybe sometimes have pizza or an odd dish. Inside the place is being used to store old machines and furniture. On the main wall there are some paintings or art pieces presumably from local artists. The singers and band were more than local, they were amazing! The buffet was like having an expertly prepared home-cooked meal. Nothing fancy or unusual, but fresh, tasty and familiar. The perfectly prepared flan for dessert added an exotic but accessible touch. Added bonuses were the selection of local beers and the espresso coffees. All of this at very affordable prices, lots of handy street parking and a great atmosphere. A true...
