Dined in. Food is decent, but not good enough to excuse bad service when you get it.
I’ve dined here a few times, each time was close to closing time because that’s around the only time I can go. Today, I managed to make it to the restaurant 30min before last call, but was greeted by a server who told me that I can only order once and should order take-out instead. Although we didn’t understand how we can only order once given the available time frame, my party (of 3) agreed to do one large order.
To sum up our dining experience, in addition to missing some orders, this server was rushing us to get out. She told us to eat faster because they close in 15min. The last time we came, a different server let us stay 30min after closing to finish. This server was also eager to clear dirty plates from our table, maybe a little too eager if you know what I mean. There were two pieces of sashimi left on a plate and she was telling my brother-in-law to take them so that she can take the plate away. That was the last straw for me and I told her that I’m aware that the restaurant closes in 10min, but she’s being very rude and unwelcoming. The server then had the nerve to say that we can bring our leftovers home, but we’ll have to pay more. Nope!
If you dine here, hopefully you don’t get this server. As for me, I’ll be going to Sushi Cove from here on out for both better food...
Read moreCame here twice Firstly, closing hours are 1030pm but the last call was said to be 930pm ... left and said that we would come back again the next day as we were insistent on trying this location as a new experience for us!
Second day arriving, service is very poor. Took over 30 minutes for server to clear table. Very unaccommodating and unprofessional environment - I even overheard the server asking another table to move their dishes, rather than doing the Job herself. Rude
In terms of food: cooked food maki rolls such as the California have pieces of cucumber way too big Sashimi cuts are not intelligently selected - large pieces of fat ruining taste and texture. Squid sushi or other types of raw sushi on rice are made by amateurs trying to make money. One tiny slice of sashimi placed on a ball of rice made of 3-4 table spoons - ridiculous! Meanwhile, the salmon teriyaki is a quarter of quarter salmon.... Waited 20 minutes for food, even though there were Three sushi chefs. Even the miso soup was disappointing
Sushi lovers from Toronto to London, this has got to be the worst sushi experienced. Good place if you don't know your sushi, do not care for sashimi or good maki rolls and would prefer your water and tea out faster than your soya...
Read moreThe sushi was just above what you could buy at the store (like superstore, ect). The noodles in the soup were huge, slimy, almost rubbery, and just not it, although the broth was delicious. The rice was good, but it was definitely overcooked. The mango sushi here has a crunchy twist, but it is quite good. They're overpriced, even for all you can eat sushi. Only because their food isn't great. Not bad, just mid. But certainly not something to write home about. Staff seemed to have limited English but were friendly! The restaurant was pretty dead, very few customers. The bathrooms are FILTHY. You know what they say, a bathroom in a restaurant says a lot about the kitchen. I had to use the washroom so bad and refused once I walked in there, I didn't even want to touch the door. They had three scent items on the counter, and it's overwhelming when you walk in. It's like they're covering up a stench. The place is a bit run down and definitely needs a deep clean. For price reference, I went with two other people, and it was over $100. It's not worth it all in all. August 8 is the best place to go for all you can eat sushi, much better food and...
