Well if this isn't just the most wholesome thing I've seen in days! A life size statue of a cow on a plinth at a busy intersection. So we're checking it out even if parking is a challenge.
Before there was a supermarket and a car dealership and a strip mall here, the Springbank Farm was here and Thomas Roy Dent owned it. Among other farming work, he bred cows. One result of that was named Springbank Snow Countess and she was a record setting cow. Milked four times a day (the average is once or twice) and she produced 12 gallons of milk per day. The lifetime champion over all other breeds, she produced 4119 kg (9081 pounds) of butterfat from 94114 kg (207500 pounds) of milk in 10 lactations. This was the highest lifetime total for milk and butterfat then, a record that wasn’t broken until 1952.
Mounted on a solid granite base, it is more than 12 feet high and weighs 9000 kg (19000 pounds). The plaque below reads, "In honor of Springbank Snow Countess, World Champion Lifetime Butterfat Producer. 9062 pounds butterfat and 207,505 pounds milk in 10 lactations. Average test 4.57. Born November 18, 1919 – Died August 9, 1936. Erected by the Holstein-Friesian Association of Canada August 4, 1937, on Springbank Farm where her lifetime was spent in the service of her breeder and owner, R.T. Dent."
At the time, it was Canada’s first permanent memorial to a record-breaking cow. It is a symbol of Oxford County's strong...
Read moreThis is it folks. This is the epitome of the intersectionality where beurocracy meets imposterous livestock. This cow knows no bounds of financial moral stupidity. Barring the common colloquial phrase "time is money" it's free to visit unless you have something, anything else to do. All this being said the cow imparts a magical buff which gives a bonus to luck. We're not talking about fake Chinese fortune cookie luck, but more like 1-900 call a psychic blessing levels of luck. After I visited this I went to a local gaming store where I played in a Magic the Gathering tournament and won. It had nothing to do with my 24 years of playing but more-so the blessing of the Woodstock cow.
You might be asking yourself the question, "how will it change my life?". There is only one way to find out. Finish your can of Pringles, get off your sofa, and bask in the glory of the cow. Stand in its shadow between the hours of 2 and 6 P.M. on sunny autumn day and chant the following: "In scelerisque oculus meus". Then head to the local game store and indulge in one of the many games they have there. You will notice no matter your game, you will win. My prize was a date with the red head who worked the Timmies right off the 401. What will your prize be? Only the...
