We've always loved Firehouse subs but the quality has been declining since being aquired by Restaurant Brands and that's a shame. My favorite salad was the Italian. It once came with chopped romaine lettuce, ham, shredded chicken, salami, provolone, chopped pepperoncini, cucumbers and tomatoes (unless you ask for any of the items to be removed) It was huge and it was so delicious!
It now costs over $20 and no longer includes the ham, provolone has been swapped for mozzarella and there are no pepperoncini. They aren't even available to add.
Despite that, I just ordered it tonight and was very disappointed. It was small, missing the salami had almost no cheese and had shredded iceberg lettuce. No chopped romaine.
I could have requested no salami as an option and it would have been deducted from the cost but I didn't. I wanted salami and I paid for it, but didn't get it.
Sadly, the salad is now comparable to that from any other sub shop. The only difference is it's ridiculously expensive.
Inconsistent and declining quality is a sure way to...
Read moreVery disappointed with my visit to Firehouse subs this evening. After calling and placing my order I was told it would be 15-20 minutes. After arriving 20 minutes later I waited in line, paid and proceeded to wait another 20 minutes. The staff were all standing around chatting while the line was starting to back up. It was clear that making sandwiches and taking orders was not the priority. When I finally went and asked how long it would be I was told they were just making my order and it would be a couple more minutes. Finally, I got my order of three sandwiches and had to remind them about the drink. The food was very good but it was unfortunate how long it took to get. When I left there was still quite a line up of people waiting to order and even more people waiting on their food. I’m glad the staff was having fun at work but wish it didn’t affect the timeliness of their...
Read moreMy boyfriend went in and ordered a sub for each of us; mine had no onions, as I'm allergic. The staff were clearly too busy chit chatting about where they parked and the early morning shift to pay attention to the food or the customers as they called my boyfriend's name and didn't even register that a 5'7" female grabbed the bag instead of the 6'4" man that ordered it. Additionally, I was so hungry when I got home that I didn't care about the squished, messy, falling apart, state of it - I dived right in: to a mouthful of onions. The ones my boyfriend asked them to not put on. Due to my allergy. It goes without saying that the tongue swelling I'm not going through is less than ideal and that's why I'm leaving...
