I recently visited Boston Pizza, and unfortunately, my experience was far from enjoyable. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt off. The restaurant was quite noisy, and the lighting was dim to the point where it was difficult to read the menu properly. I was seated promptly, but that’s where the positives ended.
The service was subpar. Our server seemed disinterested and was slow to take our order. It took almost 20 minutes just to get a drink, and even longer for our food to arrive. When it did, it was lukewarm and not as fresh as I expected. I ordered the BBQ chicken pizza, which I’ve heard good things about, but it was soggy and lacked flavor. The crust was overly thick, and the toppings seemed haphazardly thrown on. The cheese was greasy, and the sauce tasted more like ketchup than BBQ.
My companion had the pasta, which was equally disappointing. The noodles were overcooked, and the sauce was bland. It seemed like it had been sitting around for a while before it was served. The portion size was huge, but honestly, that just made it harder to get through.
When we tried to address our concerns with the server, they were curt and didn’t seem to care. It was clear they were more focused on getting us out quickly than ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. To top it off, the prices were high for what we received, making this a poor value overall.
I’ve heard people rave about Boston Pizza in the past, but my visit was a letdown. Based on this experience, I won't be returning. There are plenty of other places with better food and service...
Read moreThe food in itself was absolutely fine but I’ve given such low ratings for things because I’d ordered the ravioli and specifically made sure the server understood that I don’t eat meat and I was ordering it with marinara sauce and not Bolognese; but despite this, I was still served it with Bolognese, which I did not eat. I stayed a few hours because I had time to kill and was watching the hockey game that was on there on the TV so I also ordered some cheese on toast; which was absolutely fine, but when the server brought it there were four pieces and he suddenly said to me Do you want me to take two off? which I found extremely odd! I replied No thank you; the order is for four so I would like the four. So weird! Then he just randomly came over at one point with the card machine assuming I was finished and ready to pay and leave, even though I still had half a large beer left and still wanted to order dessert. Like I said, the food itself was OK and I’m sure someone who is a meat eater would absolutely love the ravioli with the Bolognese sauce, which was was supposed to be the marinara sauce as I’m vegetarian; but the server really let everything down, and I definitely will not be going back and I do not recommend it at all. A huge...
Read moreI have never written a negative review about a restaurant before, but our service was awful and I don't want anyone to have to go through our experience.
On Wednesday a group of us went to Boston Pizza just before noon for a going away party for 2 of our friends. We arrived at 11:10am and the restaurant was empty, so we expected reasonable service and for the food to come out fast.
Unfortunately, we experienced the opposite. Service was extremely slow (it took about 20 minutes before the server asked us what we wanted to order) and the food took an extra 40 minutes to arrive. We were hoping for a quick lunch.
While we waited there was a metal grinder going off that made THE WORST noise. This combined with the long wait time making us late for work was quite annoying.
There was no ketchup brought out for fries. The drinks were refilled once in the period of an hour and a half. And our server showed little care for giving excellent service.
I'm used to decent service from Boston Pizza, but the YK BP did not live up to this standard. I hope you avoid this restaurant if you want a pleasant restaurant experience. *Note we call this BP's K-hole Pizza cause...
