The TrapLine Lounge was a great place to meet up for after work cocktails and appetizers on my trip to Yellowknife. Staff were courteous and made great recommendations for all of us, and all of us returned several times throughout our trip. I find that most locals will tell you to venture away from the hotel for something 'more local', but it was really telling that most of the locals we encountered recommended the TrapLine. Loved all of it, and would suggest it's worth a stop!

I’m not a fan of hotel bars but this one was great. We only went because, on a Sunday afternoon in Yellowknife, little is open. The staff are friendly and helpful and the menu is varied and interesting. There are some good veggie options too. A real bonus is the fire, which is a great place to sit in front of and warm cold bones. The nudge polar bear is pretty cool too!

Amazing small lounge with modern architecture and old town accents. Food was wonderful. Ordered the basics such as calamari, honey garlic wings, nachos, those were super good. Tried the seafood chowder and the gruyere risotto and they were both splendid. Service was amazing and straight to the point we had the privilege of being served by the YouTube lady!

Well... I normally don't put negative words here, BUT! I should be honest here! The vibe is excellent here (because you got not many options) service is ok. BUT they either need to change those chefs or reconsider their positions here! The foods are terrible! I just wanna be honest, and please excuse my honesty. I ordered the calamari to start. Well it was the worst one I've ever tried in my life!!!!! I said, ok, let's go with the main food, I ordered the Bison Ribeye which was almosthe most expensive plate for $61!!!!! Can you believe it???!!! BUT when it cane in... OMG the worst tasteless weirdest stake I kinda ever had specially fir this price!!!!!!!!!! So I just wanted to be honest with you, the foods are terrible here. If you wanna just enjoy the...

The atmosphere and service are great. I've been to this place many times and was never disappointed.....until this evening. The main meal I ordered was terrible. I ordered the pan roasted seafood adrio. It was awful. The description was pan roasted scallop, shrimp, trout and lobster meat with a newberg sauce. When it arrived from the kitchen I discovered the fish was stuffed with the shrimp, scallop and lobster which was fine..but it was then wrapped with this membrane like substance around the trout that was very slimy and revolting. It reminded me of raw chicken skin. Though I am sure the contents inside tasted ok, I could not get past the slimy casing holding it together. I would not recommend that...

Service was alright, nothing special. 3 stars because it shouldn't take 45 minutes for a lackluster burger and fries, granted the restaurant may have been busy.

Good local beer, and seemingly good choices, but just like the restaurant, everything has to be fancy, or over the top in some way or another. If possible avoid the Lamb Burger because it literally just tasted like overly spiced taco meat. Could not taste the sauce, or the other topping until the meat was gone. Was filling, and I was just interested in a decent meal after work, so it has that going for it, but that's all. Would have mentioned it to the server, but he never asked me anything about the meal,...
