DEL BARRIO — Restaurant in Valparaíso

Great place to eat, drink and relax in "el plan" (the flat part) of Valparaíso. We were there on a Saturday afternoon and really enjoyed ourselves. They have an extensive and varied menu, and from what we could tell, the portions are large. We ordered the Risotto Quinta Costa (saffron risotto with shrimp and octopus) and the Pasta Pompeya (artesenal ravioli stuffed with mushrooms and caramelized onion in a tomato sauce). Both dishes were excellent.

While we were eating, a musician set up on the patio and we enjoyed his music so much we ordered drinks and stayed an extra hour. The beverage selections are extensive, we enjoyed a couple of beers and a strawberry mojito.

BEWARE OF THIEFS WORKING HERE! Horrible experience with the waiter Eliseo Yáñez. We bought a latte and a café americano. He brought us those things but also a tea with milk. I told him we didn’t order it and he argued with us so we kept it. Total cost was $8360 so we paid with a $10000 note. He only gave us $1000 back. Then when we were walking away, he said we didn’t pay at all! He would not let us leave and threatened us. He basically robbed us. So to just get out of there we paid AGAIN and left. Pésimo servicio. Fue el día Domingo 20 de Diciembre junto a mi polola y desde el inicio la ubicación en donde estaba nuestra mesa fue mala, tanto así que luego de 10 minutos esperando tuve que ir por mi cuenta a buscar a un garzón para que nos tomara la orden, el cual nos derivó a otro garzon que de mala gana nos tomó nuestro pedido. Esperamos 30 min nuestro pedido para que un 3er garzon nos trajera nuestra orden, y cuando comenzamos a comer, llego el 2do Garzón a quitarnos nuestros platos, ya que según el, no eran nuestro pedido (siendo que si eran al final). Las hamburguesas estaban crudas, las papas frias, el jugo de frutillas y el de frambuesa era más agua que fruta. Además pudimos ver como no saben gestionar el tema de las reservaciones, tanto para los clientes con y sin reservas, queriendoles quitar a estos ultimos las mesas, cuando el problema es de la administración, no del cliente. Que decir del distanciamiento social, se lo pasan por la raja, llenisimo total (para sumario de salud). Finalmente fui a conversar con la administradora sobre varias de estas cosas y lo único que supo decir: "que era porque había mucha gente", obvio que va a ver, si no hay control ni distanciamiento.
