Paddy's Irish Bar — Restaurant in Beijing

I've been coming to Paddy's for many years—at least once a month without fail. I'd say that makes me a regular. This time during happy hour, I ordered the buy-one-get-one-free beer. The first drink came, but no beer token was given. I assumed the system had changed and didn’t question it. My friend ordered the same drink and got the token, so I casually said, “I didn’t get one just now.”

Server A replied, “That’s impossible, we give them to everyone.” Then Server B came back, flipped around the table a bit, and confidently said, “I definitely gave it to you,” then turned around and walked off. And that was it—no follow-up, no offer to check, just... silence.

I didn’t want to argue, so I just ordered another one. When the second drink was brought over, Server A said in a slow, patronizing tone, “Make sure you hold onto the token this time.” So I guess I’m now both forgetful and incompetent for misplacing a piece of paper I never received?

Absolutely speechless. It’s not about the free beer—I can afford that. It’s about the way you treat your customers. Even if you think you didn’t make a mistake, is this how you speak to someone who’s supported your place for years? Everyone makes mistakes. How about checking the CCTV before talking down to your regulars?
