Bingsheng is a 1-star Michelin restaurant in the Tianhe district of Guangzhou. Serving new Cantonese cuisine, the food was all around excellent. We had the hand pulled roast chicken, its meat was smooth and juicy. Other dishes are prepared with skill and heart, with excellent presentation. Its char siu is a high-priced morsel but it really was very yummy. The enormous pineapple buns were an absolute highlight, amongst other great savory dishes. We thought we couldn't finish these huge pineapple buns, but they were not as filling as we thought. We each had half of one bun and enjoyed it.
However, service was very much lacking. We had a terrible tea lady, who told us that, despite being charged individually for each pot of tea, we could only have two pots of tea for the whole table. Then the other lady who was the head server was completely uncouth. We have reflected this to the management. This is not Michelin grade service.
