Avoid going here. It is impossible to get there without taxi service. It is in the middle of no where as well. The view is nice but it's basically a family resort hotel so there are children yelling and running up and down the restaurant and hotel facilities. We ordered the chilli crab (very messy, no apron, no gloves available), stir fried noodles (nothing impressive, very basic), sauteed vegetables (tastes too much of shrimp paste), roti (too oily), and chicken satay (too sugary). What make us know that we would definitely not be coming back was when they cleared the table to bring the birthday cake. They cleared the table of plates but did not wipe it down... They plopped the cake down onto the table with food scraps and stains still everywhere. Very much ruined the mood...
Read moreI miss the Satay Inn at City Garden now permanently closed. When I learned there is a branch at Fullerton, I had to come to try it out. The decor of the restaurant was attractive and very photogenic with lots of flowery decorations. Plenty of natural light from floor to ceiling windows and comfortable seatings. However, it was let down by the food. Apart from a very limited menu, the portions were absolutely tiny. I had curry beef brisket which was more like curry soup with only 4 pieces of meat and 3 pieces of potatoes. It did not include rice or roti, with a tiny roti, it came to $218. I don't mind the price at all, but I wanted to feel I had eaten a meal, not a snack ! The restaurant was tedious to get, so I will not recommend anyone to make a special trip...
Read moreI can feel the “theme park” ambiance here soooo much because nearly90% of the guests all bring their toddlers here, the place is extremely noisy because the kids are screaming, banging cutlery on the tables, and parents admiring their kids interacting in the restaurants like a park. And adults also speaking so loudly because the kids are raising their voices too. So it’s “fun”. The food are good, especially the pepper crabs, so peppery and aromatic, very sweet the crab although it’s fried, it’s not greasy at all. The crab is the star of the meal, instead of the satay. The satay I thought would be more chargrilled but i suspect they are fried. I guess I just miss those satay at hawker centre too much. The hainan chicken rice, the rice is the best! And the...
