A fabulous restaurant with the most wonderful, honest and friendly people running it.
Here’s my story: a week ago I went to Repulse bay for a swim. Before going in the water I took my pink ring off and put it in my wallet. The ring was a precious piece from my late mother.. After swimming I came to this restaurant to have a fresh coconut juice, relaxed, paid, then left. The following day, my pinky ring was not in my wallet where I remembered putting it, and I searched my bag, and my room and it was nowhere to be found. Four days later, I went back to the Repulse bay beach, I swam, then had had my usual fresh coconut juice at the Soho Bahn Mi. As I entered, I nonchalantly asked the lady who greeted me whether she had found a ring from a few days ago. She looked at me and just beamed at me and said YES, and handed me my ring! I, in a million years, would never have thought this could happened. This lady is called Farah. She is the owner. She told me one of the staff found it while sweeping the floor the day I went, found it, then put it on the cash counter! And she added that she / they knew the owner would return to claim it! I am such a lucky, fortunate person!
Apart from my grateful heart, I must add that the food is home cooked and nicely prepared. Everything is fresh! The people who work here are super delightful! I love them! 😍
This proves that there are still kind, honest and caring people in this...
Read moreShared two banh mi - the fish, and pork - delicious and filling, and got them within 10 minutes at lunch on a Saturday! The fish was lighter but tasty while the pork had great grilled flavors.
Service was excellent, friendly and quick and even gave us a plain freshly grilled baguette for my nephew who is a picky eater at his young age.
Not quite sure what some of the other reviews are complaining about. If you're at a banh mi spot, order the banh mi. It's literally in the name. I don't go to a steakhouse, order their pasta, and complain about it not being amazing. It's not always within the staff's control (rarely is). Also, stop complaining about pricing, it's literally on the menu on display before y'all even get seated and order, and you're on Repulse Bay Beach, there will be an UPCHARGE FOR LOCATION (as with literally every non-large chain establishment on a beach or rooftop bars?). And they couldn't have been more wrong about the staff, they were all super friendly. As someone who is actually in the industry...some people's entitlement and egocentric are often on full display in these reviews.
TL;DR - this place is better than the reviews show, go and grab yourself some banh mi when you're at Repulse and enjoy it...
Read moreIf it were possible to give this place more than five stars, I would! Where to begin? Firstly, the staff are incredible. Diana and Farah made us feel as though we were sitting in their own living room - funny, welcoming and kind. The food speaks for itself. Their fish sauce is an absolute speciality; made daily, it’s fresh and unlike anything I’ve ever had before. The pork neck is a speciality for a reason - I’ve never had pork so fragrant and light in texture and taste. Farah let us know her secret - but we’ll never tell!
The wine was gorgeous and the price was incredibly fair for the quality of the dishes. We’ve already booked our next meal there. I can’t...
