Haven’t heard back from the restaurant so sharing a review here.
We had a late lunch at the Repulse Bay branch a few weeks ago, and while the pizzas were good as always I witness a shocking racist behaviour!
The Italian pizzaiolo was probably taking a break and when he saw two old aged Chinese tourists walk through the restaurant, he lunged at them to ask them “do you want to eat?”in a derogatory way. They were standing behind me so I could assume the tourists shaked their heads to say “no”, to which I heard your pizzaiolo say “then bye bye” in a very condescending tone.
It made me stop and think if the tourists were treated this way because he was having a bad day (which in no way justifies such behaviour), meant to act in the restaurant’s “best interest”, or simply stigmatised Chinese tourists.
The restaurant wasn’t particularly busy because it was already mid/late afternoon and the old age couple didn’t come across as well travelled so while I appreciate that it’s not proper etiquette to walk into a restaurant to see what type of food is being served, it did not justify such treatment.
Since the restaurant didn’t bother replying to my email, so I wanted to share this more publicly in the hope that this is looked into to avoid a similar...
Read moreFor our first try one of the staff informed us all seats are reserved and no seats available till 3.30pm. We walked around the mall and tried again and the second time we are informed seats at the bar and the single sided table cannot be reserved and for walk-in customers. Anyway, I liked this place because the food was well prepared, fresh and tasty. We ordered Kale Caesar and the Amalfitana pizza. I can say for sure that it was the first time that I had to cut my pizza with a pair of scissors (they provided), it was quite a funny experience for us. Unfortunately the pizza although had many ingredients mentioned in the menu was not easy to find on the actual result. However, crust and base was well prepared and overall quite a pleasant experience. The view of the sun, sea and the sand was spectacular and although our dog was not allowed in the actual restaurant, the mall that the restaurant is located does and we were offered seats at the side of the open area. I will be back but I will try and make it on a weekday rather...
Read moreWorst ever experience in hongkong. First of all they said we have to give back table in 90 minutes even when whole restaurant was empty.
When we order they said it will come precisely in 10 minutes, it came after 25 mins and they forced us to leave in 90 minutes. So we had only 50 mins in hand to enjoy our meal and no option to reorder.
The pizza were make in hurry and not well make, we instructed them to make well make.
Staff was not welcoming and very rude.
All the reviews of google you can read that staff was rude and not welcoming.
The most funniest thing is there vegetarian pizzas have non vegetarian cheese which includes rennet of animal, which they don't inform to clients in advance.. They don't have vegan options too.
For me food quality is second thing, but when we are paying full money customers must be treated well and staff face should be smiling and welcoming.
We feel too weirded.
They need to change there attitude and learn more about hospitality.
I wont visit this...
