Read moreHalfway got its start on Upper Lascar Row in Sheung Wan and has since opened up a few other coffee shops around the city including this place on Soares Avenue in the Ho Man Tin neighbour in Kowloon. Opening hours are 8am to 6pm daily. They have a charming indoor seating area with exposed concrete walls and lovely art works. It is an old industrial shop turned coffee shop make-over that works.
Stopped by recently and had a really well made macchiato, bold flavourful espresso with just the right amount of milk and foam to cut the edge. This was a very good macchiato, like those served at their Sheung Wan place.
On this occasion, I had their lemon tart dessert as well. It was as delicious as it was attractive. The lemon tart was very good on its own, served with a scoop of light mango ice-cream, sweet Fuji apple slices and a slice of freeze dried pineapple to finish off, this was a very good dessert, not something I often find with our local coffee shops here in Hong Kong.
