Twelve Flavours is one of my favorite restaurants providing Sichuan dishes. There are many branches in different parts of Hong Kong.
There is a new branch set up on second floor of D2 Place Phase 2. I took the opportunity to buy boiled fish with pickled cabbages, my favorite dish, for dinner.
Boiled fish with pickled cabbages is a signature dish of this shop. You can choose different degrees of spiciness to suit your taste. If you do not like spicy food, you can still enjoy this delicious dish by opting not spicy.
The dish is large in size, enough for two to three persons. There are generous amount of sliced fish without bone. The fish is tasty and has good texture. The broth is full of flavour, well seasoned and appetising. There are tasty mushrooms and pickled cabbages. I have also ordered starch vermicelli, which is the best partner for boiled fish.
Glutinous brown sugar rice cake is a yummy dessert which is highly recommended. They are chewy and not too sweet. There are eight pieces to satisfy your appetite.
