My friend and I went to this fantastic Thai restaurant called 金亞淶 on 8 December 2022 Thurs. The restaurant's location is easy to access as it is round 8 mins walk from Lai Chi Kok’s MTR station.
We were welcomed and served by the waitress with pleasant attitude. The restaurant is tech-savvy, customers all can use QR code to place order.
It cost us total of $389 (withour service charge) for a dinner with 1 main course, 2 Thai Snacks, 1 dessert & 2 drinks. It was a very economical and fulfilling dinner.
They offered a diverse choice of starters, main dishes and desserts on their menu. Ingredients were fresh and the recipe of food is very authentic.
Photo 1: Fist Size Ribes 火山骨 The meat was very tender and juicy. We particular loved the seasoning used to make the ribs. The ribs were also seasoned with lots of corianders on the side. I strongly recommend anyone to have this as I have never eaten ribs as good as what this restaurant can offer. They even offered plastic gloves for us to eat the ribs, how thoughtful of them.
Photo 2: Thai minced pork lettuce wrap The minced pork was little spicy, they came well with the lettuce. They used heavy Thai seasonings and herbs to cook their food. It was great that the food was not too greasy to eat. The more we chewed, the more flavorful the minced pork became.
Photo 3: Pineapple Seafood Thai Fried Rice The pineapple 🍍 fried rice was served in large portion. They offered rich ingredients, including shrimp, squid, Chinese sausage, beans, and meat floss.
Photo 4: My last recommendation is to try the dessert 🥥 Coconut King Dessert. ☺️ They made it with coconut flakes, coconut cake and coconut 🏝️ The three ingredients were well mixed together and not too sweet.
We ordered iced soda lime and barley water both are not very sweet and refreshing to drink.
Decorations: The restaurant was decorated in a simple & clean manner with a comfortable environment for a meal.

Read moreOverrated. Nothing near Thai food. Expensive for what it was. Ordered afternoon tea menu, REGRET!!
Ordered fried prawn cakes rice noodles in tom yum soup base $52. Added $19 for one option of snack + drink but cost additional $8 for cendol.
Chose cendol drink. Sadly nothing near how cendol should be. The drink came with very few sagos + coconut milk from can + ice.
Chose fried morning glory as snack. Did not arrive until main course and drink finished.
Main course tom yum soup base tasted ok but no other ingredients, not even mushrooms, veg etc. Rice noddles tasted like fresh Chinese rice noodles. Fried prawn cakes were terrible. Mega oily. Freshly fried without draining any oil. See attached photos.
Cost $79 in total. It’s pricey for the quality of food, environment and location. Could have gone to anywhere in the area for afternoon tea set for half of its price with better...
Read moreA nice little Thai restaurant serving very reasonably priced quality dishes. The soup had a nice sour and hot balance. The satays were ok. The pork rib was very tender and a worth trying dish. The pig knuckle was a tiny bit less attractive as seasoning was too light. The most surprised dish was actually the dessert which is called Coconut Trio which was not too sweet and full of coconut favour, very filling too.
The servers were very helpful indeed. The...
