During an impromptu trip to Macau with friends, we stumbled upon A Lorcha, a recommended Portuguese restaurant in Google. After reading positive reviews, we decided to give it a try. Following the advice, we called ahead to book a table. The experience exceeded expectations – the waiter’s menu suggestions were spot on. The garlic clam was a standout, and although the oxtail was fantastic, the meat was a bit tough. Despite this, the overall dining experience was delightful, and we highly recommend it! Pro tip: Booking in advance is a must, as the restaurant was bustling. A flavorful journey through Portuguese cuisine awaits at A Lorcha.

Their signature dishes - the seafood rice and clams - were both really delicious, generously portioned, and reasonably priced! The broth of the seafood rice in particular was rich in prawn/crab flavours. Also, don’t let first appearances fool you - there was a lot of seafood hidden under the pile of rice on the claypot! We were really lucky we got a table without reservations, probably because we arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes before its lunch opening time. Shortly after, however, the restaurant began filling really quickly. Despite the crowd, the staff service was efficient and friendly!

One of the Michelin guide restaurant that's serves authentic Portuguese dishes. Recommended to try the clams which was delicious although it is quite costly at 140MOP. Restaurant has a nice ambience and serves a varieties of Portuguese dishes. It is located near to places of interest such as A-ma temple and maritime museum. Definitely worth a visit if you intend to explore the area mentioned. Reservation can be done via their Facebook and it is highly recommended to do so as the restaurant can be quite crowded and wait could be long.

Been here a number of times and always enjoyed it. The fish broths they have were the highlights for our group of four. This fish soup was thick and had good size bits of fish, stuffed octopus was delicious and the octopus salad was even better when dipped in the fish soup. The Spanish style clam dish pictured below was the highlight for me. Wine prices were reasonable too and the staff are very friendly. The bread is good, try to refrain from eating too much until the food comes!

Great atmosphere and food - an age old institute of Macau. Recent visit I noticed there were some new staff since before covid and they were more abrupt / less friendly than the “old guard”. Jam 2024 UPDATE Returned for dinner and had a much more “typical classic” excellent experience at this well-established institution. Fantastic food, and great atmosphere, and staff on excellent form this time. Thank you!

One of the famous Portuguese/macanese restaurant among tourists. I knew their food is good, but I don't expect to be THAT GOOD! It's so nice to recall the taste from childhood. Service was good and I don't need to emphasize the food again. During the padamic, with less tourists, it is definitely the place to go. We can't afford to lose such nice restaurant with good fame and history. Long live A Lorcha!
