Bistro La Baie 🔱 #約會慶生之選

Modern French cuisine of a fine-dining level which became one of my favourite!! Great service and nice atmosphere. Portions are good enough for sharing too ⚜️ recommended to go on Mondays as you could get a “buy one get one free” for the main dishes 🤭 (They actually do special promotions for each day so check it out!!)

Starters 1️⃣ Butter Fried Frog Leg $148 Was actually scared cuz I’ve never tried this before (but always curious about how it tastes!) It somewhat tastes like chicken, only more tender. It also goes so well with the garlic crisps, chilli, and harriso sauce! 🐸

2️⃣ Roasted Bone Marrow $248 Slightly pricey for a starter but guess what - it was so fancy and amazingly delicious!! The bone marrow was nicely placed on a hill of salt, with escargot parsiey and butter crumbs on top. They go pretty well together (though slightly oily and salty) but heyy that’s how it’s filled with flavour 🐚

3️⃣ Oysters $178

Main 4️⃣ Seafood Ragout $218 Ragouts are like little pearl noodles (or tiny gnocchis)☺️ A fancy fish from the sea with squid, clams, musels, liger prown, and "bouillabaise sauce". 🌊

Dessert 5️⃣ Crepes Suzette $88 One of their signatures with chanilly and...

We sat outside. There was a group of French families outside with the heat lamps next to the water, so a good sign (for a French bistro) as it was our first time (we're not TKO regulars).

Maitre d' named Chris sorted us out with menus and drinks. They have an extensive and impressive wine list but hey, dry January, so we'll have to try it in Feb.

Tried a few dishes that looked interesting. We had some nice things to say about the food so at the end of the night, the chef - Devon Hou - came out to say hello!

Octopus was served on an eggplant hummus that could be its own dish, it's so good. Plus deep-fried enoki and 'n'djua fried sugar pea.Great combo, octopus perfectly grilled.

Also - frog legs! It has a harissa side sauce and they were cooked with a little Cantonese influence (I thought) and were meaty and tasty.

Also a broccolini with beer-braised mushrooms from the sides menu (must veg) plus clams in white wine sauce (w extra garlic bread) and baked Camembert with strawberry jam from the Bar Snacks menu. You can mix and match and it's no worries.

Friendly, attentive and fast service. And again, always fun to...

Four of us sampled what the new French restaurant at the TKO waterfront has to offer and overall, we were highly impressed. The food is fantastic but a couple of things could be improved. The steak tartare had a wonderful flavour but the size of the sharing portion made us actually ask if that's what we got. It was on the small side which was a tad disappointing. The bone marrow is spectacular and as it comes with escargot on top, you're kind of getting a two-for-one. Overall, the service too was spectacular. How that lost a star for me was due to us needing to ask several times for enough bread to come along with the appetizers for all four of us to have some. To get that fifth star, this type of thing should have been anticipated and provided for without guests needing to ask. Our mains consisted of Iberico pork, 9-hour beef chuck, grilled octopus and steak frites. All were done very well and the flavours left all of us grinning. All in all, I have no trouble recommending Bistro La Baie and I'm sure we'll all...

Dining at Bistro La Baie The restaurant has the perfect vibes for a relaxing dining experience, making it an ideal spot for a leisurely meal. We began our meal with a delightful dish of mussels cooked in white wine, accompanied by garlic and shallots. The dish was rich and flavorful, with the mussels perfectly tender. One of the highlights was dipping the sourdough bread into the creamy parsley sauce, which complemented the seafood beautifully. For the main course, we ordered a sharing plate featuring slow-cooked beef short rib ($528). The beef was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Accompanying the short rib were super crispy dauphinoise potatoes, which added a delightful texture to the dish. The glazed carrots and broccoli, served with a pepper jus, provided a fresh and vibrant contrast to the richness of the beef.
