Burger Republic — Restaurant in Sai Kung District

I didn't think I'd be writing a review so I don't have accompanying photos. While I've been here plenty of times before, today's lunch was so delicious that it compelled me to share.

Both the burger and the fries are made-to-order -- I can tell because I always hear the grill sizzling after every order and the food always comes out hot!

Their cheese classico burger is simple but has all the essentials. I prefer my fries on the crunchier side, and theirs do not disappoint. Call me crazy, but it’s a good substitute for Shake Shack and for MUCH less $$$.

Comparatively, other burger joints in HK either add unnecessary frills, forgo the essentials (i.e. no lettuce or tomato), or supersize their burgers (i.e. really thick beef patties). While Burger Republic does offer a variety of burgers with additional toppings, I appreciate the simplicity and accuracy of their “American” style...

The food took a long time (over 15 min seems unusual for a fast food place). But it was very fresh and hot.

My companion said his bacon cheeseburger was "better than Shake Shack but not as good as Five Guys". The veggie burger was great, with a nicely crisped up patty. American cheese though.

I was most looking forward to the fries since apparently they use some kind of special potato. They were tasty crispy skin-on fries with a bit of batter, but nothing special with regard to flavor in my opinion.

It’s a nice and cozy place. The burgers are delicious. Enough for one person. Just the place for sitting is not too much, maybe 4 couples can sit there. The prices in compare of other places is good. They also have different type of milkshakes (like 5 guys). The fries is good. They have different type of sauces and vinegar that you can add to your food.
