Don't like waiting in line but when you've come to woop woop to have a bowl of noodles, I guess you can't do much about it.Ā A taro pearl milk tea from Gong Cha enjoyed while waiting in line did a few favors for us this hot Octoberš„µday.
Of course it's the company that matters and I enjoy traveling to the ends of the earth hand in hand with this one. š¤Ŗ
We ordered:
Sichuan Spicy Stewed Wagyu Beef Cheek/Ox Tail/ Beef Broth Flat Noodles :chopstick: Blue Crab Meat, Prawns, Hokkaido Scallops, Prawn Sol, Seafood Pottage Thin noodles. :yummy: Sichuan chilli marinated chicken feet :yummy: Marinated Black Fungus with Garlic and Sesame Oil
The appetizers were delicious, to our liking, not too spicy.Ā I liked the seafood noodles a lot, the soup was hot, fragrant and rich. There were two large prawns and two scallops, with crab meat dispersed in the soup. It was a soulful bowl of noodles.
The beef noodle soup was just okay, I didn't taste the chilli and it was a bit bland for me. It's supposed to be a signature dish, with the soup famously boiled for X number of hours. I still liked the seafood noodles more.
They also have other interesting noodle options such as the lamb broth soup with bean curd sheets and the black looking Hokkaido squid and cuttlefish paste ink flat noodles.
Unfortunately the distance won't bring me here again but I would recommend it to anyone who did not mind waiting half an hour outside the restaurant for a hearty bowl of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA friend who lives in Tai Wai recommended Hao Tang Hao Mian to me, saying that itās one of her favorite to go restaurants in the hood. After trying it last Saturday, I understand why my friend likes it so much! It got my heart immediately with their superb noodles and soup!
I got this Flat Noodles in Supreme Broth with Kagoshima Chicken Meat, Fish Maw, Black Mushrooms and Julienne Yunnan Ham. The toppings were like the traditional dim sum āCotton Chickenā. First sip of the broth gave me an instant foodgasm! It was really a supreme one! Rich with legit and strong chicken flavor, MSG free and didnāt make me feel thirsty. I kept sipping it while having the noodles.
The noodles were quite soft, yet very enjoyable. The toppings were very delicious too. Chicken was tender and juicy; fish maw was slightly chewy; ham was flavored yet not salty. I wish there were more of them!
Hao Tang Hao Mian has gotten a great name, they really serve great soup and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThere's always a line here, so either early or come on an off hour to enjoy some of the best soup noodles Hong Kong has to offer. This place has been placed on Michelin's Bib Gourmand list for good reason. The soup base used for the noodles here are out of this world; so fragrant and flavorful, it really gives you the feeling of a Chinese version of Japanese Ramen. This comparison may draw a bit of confusion, but it will make sense once you try it. I had the fish maw soup noodles and the sheer size of the fish maw that came with the noodles surprised me. It would be difficult to get a piece of fish maw this size for this price anywhere else. The soup was creamy and tasted heavily of seafood. Another one we sampled was the one made with lobster and crab; that had the taste of a lobster bisque for a soup base. The noodles will vary from bowl to bowl, but the thick noodles that came with the fish maw noodles were delectable. A great choice for soup and...
