From the perspective of someone who has only tasted what goes for dumplings at Chinese-American restaurants, this place is great. I read a review that says this place is to Shanghai dumplings what McDonalds is to hamburgers - not the best you'll find, but delicious, cheap, and fast. I had the crabmeat dumplings and shrimp dumplings, as well as the beef curry noodle soup (a much lighter curry flavor than you might think). It was delicious. My go to place for shengjian if I’m around the IFC. Yang’s dumplings is like the McDonald’s of (shengjian 生煎) pan-fried dumplings. They are consistently pretty good across all locations, but not the best dumplings in Shanghai. When you go to this location be prepared to be close to your neighbors as the store is pretty small and there are tons of tourists. DAMN YUMMY!!! I got the Signature Yang’s Dumpling in a set of 4. It was served hot & piping, super juicy and flavourful. Crispy at the base and chewy surrounding. Meat is well marinated. Bursting with soup. Order and pay, take the receipt and pass to the kitchen, collect food and find a seat. Chilli condiments available on each table, not spicy at all. Super filling too....
