Went to restaurant on April 28 2021 for lunch. Food poisoned.
Bad service: Waitress forgot one of our orders, which is fine. But then kept trying to charge us despite repeated requests to cancel the order. Ultimately canceled the order. But the experience was not pleasant. No tea refills either.
Food: Food looked and tasted fine. I ordered sushi. Wife ordered tempura mini don set.
Post-Lunch: I got food poisoning. Wife is ok.
2-3 hours later I had chill sweats and vomited in the YOHO mall bathroom. I went to YOHO QHMC, where the Dr. confirmed I had inflammation in the bowel indicating food was the cause. I spent the next 6 hours home cold-sweating and sleeping.
We called to report this to the restaurant. Hopefully they reported to Centre for Food Safety, as they were required to.
Conclusion: Cannot give it 1 star because the food looked ok and portions were decent. However, at ~HKD 400 for lunch, the price point is too high for the bad service. Therefore, we gave it 2 stars factoring in the food poisoning, probably due to their food handling process with the sushi (which would not be surprising if it is anything like their wait staff service). Read moreI had a beef udon as it was my hearty comfort food. The booth was full of flavors, and the udon was cooked just right. Appetizer, salad and steamed egg were all great as well. We also had a dessert, which was a few pieces of bite-sized mochi. They were soft and chewy and not too sweet.
The place was spacious. My friend and I could enjoy lots of personal space from others for our it-has-been-so-long catch-up. I really appreciated they kind of leaving us alone so that we could have our privacy. It was a long chat and they did not rush us nor give us any pressure. They asked for help to fill in a survey on a paper and of course I was more than happy to do so.
I am not from the area, so it was kind of difficult for me to find it from the train station. It was kind of opposite to a cinema...
Read moreWe dine in for early dinner. Was greeted by the front of the house and sat quickly around 6pm. We were told we have the table for 90 mins. So it seems walk-in is okay a bit before the dinner rush.
It’s right near the entrance, theaters and right across Yata. So quite a frequented through that portion of the mall.
Food is okay though quite pricey considering cost to quality. Nonetheless, they have a good sized menu. Their sushi was fresh. BUT we found their mushroom soup to be MVP!
If you’re digging for sushi and yakitori in YOHO Mall, perhaps a good pick if you can get there...
