Kai Kee Dessert — Restaurant in Yuen Long District

Standards of cleaniness and food safety are not very high here.

In particular, I've had two occasions where I've found small metallic bits in my food, both here and at their other location on Yau San Street (which has since closed). The metallic bits distinctly resemble that of metallic pot scourers. Rather overpriced and given food safety issues I would not recommend.

Braved it again this time as I had a visitor. Will need to come up with another location soon.

That said, their food is decent and the portion is large, if you don't mind the risk of ingesting...

The dessert was good, not great, but I mark it 4 star. Since the staff was very nice. Last Sat I went there with my big family, 2 elderly, 3 kids, 1 baby and 5 adults, total 11 peoples. I take time to have a big table for 11, but the waitress offer a smaller table for my parents (2 elderly) first, and arrange other nearby tables for us. I used to come here for dessert once a week or so when I lived in Hong Kong 10 years ago. I just tried it again. The quality of the food has decreased markedly. The fruit in some cases is somewhat raw, and in dishes that are supposed to contain ginger, it tastes like none is used. The fruit mix is also less than what I'd expect for a given dish. I don't think I'll be coming back. Want a great dessert - try the desert shop just next to Tin Heng LRT stop in Tin Shui Wai, where the quality is just as good as it was...
