So this place is fairly new and small. Seat about 16 inside and perhaps 8 outside. Serve traditional dessert soup some of them are Chiuzhou 潮州糖水 style. On this visit tried their 清心丸绿豆爽$22+芋丸地瓜丸$7. Basically chewy transparent jelly + mung bean + taro root/sweet potatoes pellets sweet soup. It tasted ok for me, not too sweet which is good. Would be nice if it's hotter. Drawback at this place either lack of staff or lack of organization. Sign said open at 3:30pm but didn't open till 4:30pm. Big queue formed and filled up inside immediately. Service was painfully slow. It took 20 minutes for our order to come and we were the first one in. The rest of the group (first 16 people in) some of them were still waiting for theirs after 40 minutes. And other customers outside still waiting to get in. At this rate, for sweet dessert soup (competitors are everywhere) I can't think they will be sustainable as a business no matter how good their...
Read moreFeb 23: random pick a (4 stars) dessert shop on Sunday. There is a lot of people wait for their take away. And some of them are waiting for seats.
I waited for 15 mins then I can go inside. Before go inside, I checked the waitress whether they can provide a menu while waiting. However, waitress asked me to search from web. And then I am going to order dessert, the another waitress seems not that patient. Kind of push us to order quickly. Maybe this is the peak hour. Also, when I am ordering, she just stand behind me and I need to twist my neck to talk to her. Maybe there is not much space.
I ordered the red bean soup, to be honest, the soup is mediocre. Maybe their signature dessert is 芋圓 taro balls. I added $9 for 2 balls of sweet dumplings, it is...
Read moreFound this dessert shop from Google as it had pretty good ratings so decided to check it out as B Jai Dessert is the “go-to” in Yuen Long so wanted something different. A relatively small place but it wasn’t too busy on a Thursday night at 8pm which was great. The popular chewy taro ball with pearl and ice cream on top of tofu pudding was my favourite $35. The second dessert was ok, came with chewy taro balls, small pieces of Taiwanese brown sugar grass jelly (a bit too sweet), and sweet potato? ice cream (which was half melted upon arrival 👎🏻) also on top of tofu pudding wasn’t too bad $38. Wasn’t happy with the melted ice cream though. Would come back again for the...
