Some context: BOG international is a comfortable airport, and places like this are part of that experience. It looks very good at first pass. The drip coffee is quite good, though very expensive by COL standards. The food is fine, but not as good as can be found elsewhere. They have a nice area for seated eating, but the majority is hard to see from the cash area. (It's blocked by a wall selling merch.) That's mainly why the review is 2/5 stars: we got ours to go because the seating area we saw was full; and we didn't see until after ordering that the other one was empty. There was no sign or set of instructions, so we sat down. But we were kicked out within minutes, because we'd not ordered to stay. It looks like a common issue among the comments. We've been sitting in just outside the area for an hour and the same seating area has never had more than one (of about 8) tables occupied, while the other seating area has remained full. It appears like a common problem -- and one that generates irritated customers who just paid a lot to sit next door with their irritated boredom. Lots of time to write screeds on phone screens. Seems like low hanging fruit for...
Read moreI just spent 2 hours in the security line. I just need to relax now. Where I am sitting, is a square table for 8 people and from here I can see people running to their gates.
The menu is presented in dollars. The local is while and has exhibited Colombian merchandise for sell.
I ordered an americano with milk (cafe con leche) but now, all sudden, the Colombians cafe became “Americano...” 0 identity...
I also ordered an arepa with egg inside. It is a dough fried twice: once so that it expands inside with the heat of the oil in order to drop the raw egg inside. The second time is fried is to cook the egg inside. It is an art to prepare this kind of arepa, and it does not turn out well the first time someone tries. It is originally from the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
The dish came with fruit and sour cream. Also, a nice fancy little bottle with spice.
The waitresses provided excellent service.
4 stars out of 5 because it is a...
Read moreWhen we first arrive we wait in line for 10 minutes with everyone else to order and then we are rudely told to go sit down and order. So we sit at a table and no one comes to take our order for another 10 minutes. By this point we are 10-15 minutes away from boarding, so we feel rushed.
I try to order to the “Formula 1” Combination, which includes a croissant, but as a vegetarian, I asked them to swap the ham & cheese croissant for the chocolate croissant which is listed as a cheaper item on the menu. The lady taking our order refuses to accommodate this, despite my pleading with her and asking her why, but no luck. She did not apologize or provide a reason and forced me to pick out the ham from the croissant I ordered.
Terrible service and staff.
Feel bad for the owner, the food tastes good, but ended up...
