My girlfriend and I had spent about an hour searching for a restaurant to eat at after she lost a bet between us and she would pay for a date. We actually looked at a few other places and we ended up here at black pepper. There were some good things and some bad things with our experience here. We ordered the “Mozzarella Fingers”, the “New York steak” and the St. Louis ribs.
The good: the music and vibe was nice. All the food was hot and fresh. The mozzarella fingers were cheesy and actually really delicious, I was a fan of their special marinera sauce and the honey mustard sauce was good too.
The bad: we waited about 15 minutes just to receive the fingers and we waited a little more than 25 minutes to receive our Steak and Ribs (despite there only being 3 other occupied tables in the whole restaurant) Which wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, but after waiting, the steak I ordered was not even a New York cut. It’s quiete misleading to advertise it as a “New York steak” on the menu. Also, we lacked any attention from our servers (again despite the restaurant being very empty)
This was my second time here and I left feeling the same if not worse than the first time visiting. My girlfriend and decided we would never visit this restaurant again.
It was actually such a bad experience that after we made it home, my girlfriend cried because she spent so much for such a lousy experience and very...
Read moreThis place was awful. What they refer to as barbecue sauce is in fact, sweet tomato sauce. No hickory or smoke flavor just a nasty sauce they call barbecue. I had the wings and ribs, it was utter garbage. Real barbecue sauce does exist in Colombia. I've had it numerous times. Avoid this place if you're looking for authentic bbq ribs or wings. In all fairness to the restaurant I did not try any other menu items nor will I. They use lawn furniture for chairs and tables. No kidding. This place has the ambience of a hot dog stand and not an upscale steakhouse as their online discription suggests. Lastly, I ordered a shot of tequila, when the shot arrived the shot glass was half full. (a regular shot glass) The waiter informed me that a full shot glass would be considered a double. I have been to other resturants with identical size shot glasses and they fill them to the top. This was my worst resturant experience in the three months I've been in Colombia. I eat out almost every night. The best thing that happened was, a man walked up to my table and told me he was hungry. I gave him ALL of my food that was boxed up and he was...
Read moreMy favourite spot in La Buena Mesa to hang out, and enjoy good food and drinks. We went here several times during the two weeks I was visiting Envigado and always had a really wonderful experience. The staff at Black Pepper are really attentive, super friendly and genuine and always a pleasure to speak with. They always made sure we were comfortable and taken care of. We tried lots of different dishes here and everything was always excellent and fresh. They make some really good mojitos too. Nice laid back vibe and they often have live music. Really great spot and I highly recommend this place especially if you're craving grilled food and drinks and relaxed atmosphere. I can't wait to visit again. Thanks again...
