Gabo (ENVIGADO) Ambiance: Located in Envigado, Gabo offers a charming and inviting atmosphere. The decor is inspired in a Book written by Gabriel García Márquez, creating a literary and cozy environment. The restaurant is easy to find in the main street. However, the place is small and can get full quickly, so it is highly recommended to make a reservation. Keep in Mind that public parking is available nearby because the place does not have its own.
Food Quality and Menu Variety: The menu offers a wide variety of options, including vegetarian dishes, many many interesting options that makes difficult to choose, all looks delicious. we started with the empanadas. and tasted chicked and fish dishes and attemptet to taste the kids menu. The menu try to be authentic, and the presentation shows great effort and dedication. Portion sizes are generous, making it a great place for a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. However, attention is needed in food preparation, particularly with cooking times and salt concentration, which require improvement.
The service at Gabo is exceptional. The staff is friendly, extremely helpful, and especially attentive to minors, ensuring a pleasant and family-friendly dining experience.
Cleanliness The restaurant seems to keep standard of cleanliness. The dining area, restrooms are spotless, contributing to a comfortable and hygienic dining experience.
Beverage Selection The beverage selection at Gabo is impressive. They offer a variety of traditional Colombian drinks, including fresh fruit juices, and non alcoholic options. The cocktails are definitely worth trying, we just try 2 different options and i highly recommend the place for a friends afternoon with cocktails extremely well prepared.

The star of the evening was Daniel, our waiter, who provided impeccable service. His extensive knowledge of the menu, coupled with his friendly demeanor, made us feel truly welcomed and well taken care of. Daniel’s recommendations were spot on, guiding us through a culinary journey that was out of this world.
The food at Gabo is an exquisite blend of flavors and textures. Each dish was a masterpiece, meticulously crafted and beautifully presented. We started with the ceviche, which was incredibly fresh and bursting with vibrant flavors. The main course, a succulent steak cooked to perfection, melted in our mouths. The sides were equally impressive, with the truffle mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables complementing the meal perfectly.
One of the highlights was the dessert – a decadent chocolate cake paired with passionfruit ice cream. The combination of rich chocolate and tangy passionfruit was a delightful surprise and the perfect ending to a flawless meal.
What truly sets Gabo apart is the attention to detail and the passion that is evident in every aspect of the dining experience. From the thoughtfully curated menu to the attentive service and the charming atmosphere, everything is designed to create a memorable experience for the guests.

Read moreThis may be the most pathetic excuse for a restaurant I have ever had the displeasure of eating at in my entire life. I’m a chef, I respect food, and I love to cook, which is why this experience was even more infuriating. We walked into what was an almost empty restaurant — that should have been our first clue. We ordered a bottle of rosé, and they tried to serve it at room temperature — which in Medellín is 83 degrees. Are you serious? I had to teach them how to cool down a bottle of wine by putting it in ice water. I spent the next 15 minutes spinning the damn bottle myself because the staff was too incompetent to do it.
Then came the food. We ordered three dishes, and one came out looking like a piece of shoe leather soaked in some sad excuse for a sauce. And guess what? It tasted even worse. Another dish, pork belly with teriyaki, was shockingly good, but that doesn’t save this dumpster fire of an experience. The third dish? Red snapper crudo. Except it wasn’t crudo. It was hot when it hit the table. When we asked why, they casually told us, “Oh, it must have been sitting under the heat lamp for a while.” Are you kidding me?
The staff couldn’t care less about anything we had to say. They were ghosts the whole time — maybe they just wanted to hide from how bad the place is. I wouldn’t set foot in this place again if it was the last restaurant on earth. And the fact that this place somehow has a 4.9 rating? Clearly, there’s a scam...
