El Barista Ruta del Café — Restaurant in Perimetro Urbano Pereira

This café is truly on a tier that goes above and beyond anything that I have ever experienced. They offer exceptional quality coffee and customer service in an environment that is friendly and inviting. They also actively participate in fostering coffee knowledge by offering specialized courses in various processes such as latte art, preparation methods and roasting courses. My girlfriend and I participated in the barista course that walked us through 6 preparation methods and answered any and all questions that we had. Our instructors were Alejandro, Sebastian & Yesid and each of them were fantastic. Alejandro walked us through the preparation methods of the V60, Aeropress & cold brew. Sebastian taught us the preparation methods of espresso, Mochaccino & an Irish Latte. Came to have breakfast and coffee with my gf. Had 3 different coffees and 2 dishes. Service was incredibly slow, took ages before they took order and another lifetime before they actually brought it. The reason for this review however is that none of the stuff we ordered was in any way good or justified the raving reviews. The food was bad and the coffee mediocre at best. So when I went to pay I didn’t feel like tipping for bad service and bad food/drinks, which apparently upset the waiter so much that he charged my credit card in Euros instead of Pesos, just out of spite, making the bill roughly 10% more expensive. Nice place to take a delicious and elaborate coffee with kinds of methods that you can imagine. Hot coffee, cold coffee, glace coffee, elaborations of coffees, cheesecake, carrot cake, cheesecake of coffee and other exquisite things.

Over this place you can have a good coffee with a good cake or other option mean while you relax or read a good book.
