Nice place, good food but animal service. I made some good restaurants but this one wins the award for bad service. I put 2 stars because the place and the food are tops. the waiter who served us made inappropriate comments to my spouse on her appearance (a discreet tattoo on the thigh and on her dress like an animal) The poor did not know how to react felt very bad and our experience was totally negative. he did not stop harassing us and he was not even able to cash my credit card several times. .really one of our worst experiences. I spoke to the boss at the end who seemed very uncomfortable and I understand because I would have been ashamed in his place that my beautiful restaurant gives a picture as animal and displaced. it is a beautiful place and the food is very good but reallyashamed to harass for hours like this 🎪 worthy of a zoo

Bel endroit , bonne nourriture mais service animalier . J'en ai fait des bons restaurants mais celui-ci décroche la palme au niveau du mauvais service. Je mets 2 étoiles car l'endroit et la nourriture sont tops. Le serveur qui nous a servi à fait des commentaires déplacés à ma conjointe sur son apparence ( un tatouage discret au niveau de la cuisse ainsi que sur sa robe tel un animal) La pauvre ne savait pas comment réagir s'est senti très mal et notre expérience a été totalement négative . Il n arrêtait pas de nous harceler et il n a même pas été capable d encaisser ma carte de crédit à plusieurs reprises. Vraiment une de nos pires expériences. j'en ai parlé au boss a la fin qui semblait bien mal à l'aise et je le comprends car j'aurai eu honte à sa place que mon beau restaurant donne une image aussi animalière et déplacé . c est un bel endroit et la nourriture est très bonne mais vraiment honteux d harceler pendant des heures comme ça 🎪 Digne d un zoo

Buen lugar, buena comida pero servicio de animales. Hice algunos buenos restaurantes pero este gana el premio por mal servicio. Do not come here for dinner without a reservation. Do not join the waitlist. The restaurant is incapable of dealing with one and the experience is absolutely not worth the time you have to dedicate and the frustration you have to deal with. Details below.

La Regatta is a restaurant that provides solid food options, on an attractive menu with a variety of interesting choices. What I ate here (Orzo pasta with lobster and a lime sauce; Johnny Cay Ceviche) was good. It wasn’t spectacular, but good. Solid. Same goes for the waiters, provided you know a few words of Spanish. The drink was okay.

However, that quality does not align with the prices charged. To justify paying as much per person as other good restaurants on the island would charge for three, the cuisine and service should be spectacular, and they very much are not.

And in the case of the dinner-time hostess and organisation, the experience is atrocious.

The restaurant is in high demand, so people line up. So far, so ordinary. However, the restaurant hostess staff is incapable of dealing with this demand without letting every single guest know that they are expandable. I had one of the most frustrating and impolite treatments here of all restaurants I have ever visited.

The hostess is not to be approached to add yourself to the waitlist, instead, her colleague, whose entire attitude is very much discouraging, is to be told the name. You do not get any timing indication. When I asked for one, I was told that it is impossible to predict. When I asked whether it will be longer than an hour or an hour, I was told it will be an hour, more or less. There is no option to get a text when your table is getting ready. Instead, you have to wait in line, standing or, if you‘re lucky, sitting, while the hostess says a lucky name every 15 minutes into a microphone that feeds into a speaker that blows your ears off every time it is used.

After 2.5 hours, I asked the hostess how many people remained in front of me. I was told it was three. When I asked whether that includes those people who come in on reservations, I was not provided with an answer, instead I was asked to give the hostess 20 seconds. After 15 seconds, she asked me to go back to the waiting area, she would call me up shortly. Half an hour later, the clock was approaching 2200, after witnessing another 5 groups from the waitlist that had come after me being welcomed in, I decided to cut my losses, have dinner elsewhere and return for lunch.

Spare yourself that experience and either come for lunch, when reservations are usually available on short notice, or skip it altogether. Not worth the...

I got in with my fam of 11 by reseving the day before and putting a 500k that were returned. Amazing views, professional service, and great food. As much as I respect the salmon, it wasn't for me. I wanted my salmon cooked medium,I even said I wanted it medium well but I was flatly told they don't do such thing. So when I got my salmon well done it was just not as tender or flavorful as I usually like it. The sauce was interesting but lacked flavor, and for having "teriyaki" in the description I sure didn't taste it or see it. The red coloring was also an interesting choice for covering the entire salmon, and the sauce turned into a jelly fastThe guacamole was a nice pairing, but could've been a bit more mature and soft. The cocktail I had was great, perhaps a bit too strong for my tasting, but well worth. Lobster was good and there is a wide selection of preparations for anyone. A drink my aunt had was a bit too watery compared to the cheaper and more fruitful drinks found on the beach. The view of the ocean is beautiful but don't be surprised to be surrounded by a lot of yachts. The service was as said, professional, fast, and efficient. I wouldn't have minded some more cheerfulness or welcoming vibes, but hey, she was fast, accurate, and efficient. I think that the restaurant is well worth if affordable, as the atmosphere is unique and the menu is vast and specialized.
