Review of Somos Restaurant – Santa Teresa, Costa Rica
During my recent trip to the beautiful surf town of Santa Teresa, my friends and I visited Somos Restaurant several times — and every visit was an absolute delight. This place truly stands out as one of the best brunch spots in town!
Somos offers a perfect combination of healthy food, amazing coffee, and a laid-back yet stylish atmosphere. Whether we stopped by for breakfast or a late afternoon meal, the quality of the food was consistently excellent — fresh ingredients, delicious flavors, and beautifully presented dishes.
The restaurant itself is set in a lush, green space that perfectly matches the tropical vibes of Costa Rica. The ambiance is relaxed and inviting, and on some evenings they even have live music, making it a great live music restaurant to chill out after a day of surfing or exploring.
What made the experience even more special was the staff. The waiters were incredibly kind and friendly, always smiling and making us feel right at home. Their service added a personal touch that made each visit memorable.
If you're in Santa Teresa and looking for a top spot to enjoy a delicious meal, great coffee, and a wonderful vibe, I can't recommend Somos enough. It's a must-visit if you're into healthy, fresh food and...
Read moreI had such an incredible experience at Somos! Just a complete gem of Santa Teresa, this was such a beautiful place to spend time - get out of the sun between walks to the beach or thorugh the jungle, read a book by the pool... I was always meeting someone new and interesting! A lot of the staff seems like long time residents and they were all so welcoming and kind - drama free zone. Lots of boards on offer for rent at competitive prices with everywhere else - I liked the black Fish best :) I also really appreciated that they had both a resident shaper (@ForrestMinchinton) while also making room for emerging talent, like Dan Tyrell (@tyrrellsurfboards) young prodigious shaper from England. The kitchen was closed while they were shooting some promotional video of their cooking, they let me watch on and try some of the dishes - beautiful and mostly vegan offerings I was so impressed and really can't wait to be back to try the full menu! Again on the note of giving a platform to young emerging artists, the shoot was led by photographer @jackufraser and his work is just incredible, In summary, incredibly cool and helpful staff, amazing (vegan!) food, sexy boards sexy people, safe atmosphere and ALL the vibes - I'll definitely be...
Read moreDisappointing. I ordered two items (oat milk cappuccino and coconut yoghurt bowl) but they were both exactly not what they were described as. The ‘cappuccino’ was watery black coffee with milk in, no cappuccino foam or flavour. The response was that the homemade oat milk doesn’t froth…which is fine but it shouldn’t be called a cappuccino in that case, or the staff could let you know as you order oat milk that it won’t actually be a cappuccino. Secondly, the coconut ‘yoghurt’ is not like yoghurt at all. It’s more like a frozen coconut water with little flavour - again, maybe the dish shouldn’t be called yoghurt when it’s nothing like it. You can make coconut yoghurt with the same texture as yoghurt so maybe this dish should be called a ‘sorbet’ bowl instead. Two stars purely because my boyfriend enjoyed his burger. We would maybe have returned if the staff treated us better as the dinner menu looked good but service was not great on top of the food so we...
