I hate to leave a negative review but we were pretty disappointed in this place. We arrived at opening and were told they would not open for another 40 mins or so due to the kitchen running behind. We decided to explore the town a little and come back. After coming back, we waited over 30 mins for our food, which included guacamole and chips as an appetizer and a burrito, tacos, and enchiladas for main dishes. We ordered beef for all 3 dishes but were served chicken. None of the dishes came with any sides (typical rice/beans etc.) or sauces. The enchiladas were essentially hard tacos with enchilada sauce on top. My husband said his burrito tasted good but didn't have any sauce with it or garnishes. Guacamole here is good but cost around $10 US/5000 Colones for a small cup with chips. Possibly they hired a new chef or changed management recently? Our dishes looked nothing like the photos and were overpriced for the quality/quantity, was pretty shocked after reading all of the reviews with...
Read moreThis was my partner and I’d favorite place to go on our trip! It was one of the only places we went to multiple times (we were only here for 10 days). Something to note is that the food takes longer than an average restaurant but that is because the food is 100% made to order and it is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Always worth the wait, and while you’re waiting, go to the bar and meet the friendliest best bartender in town and get some AMAZING drinks!! This is MUST TRY if you’re coming to Puerto Viejo, Friendly Staff, Amazing Food, Wonderful Drinks, Great Atmosphere and just a great place to enjoy time while right across from the beach. Highly Recommend and if I could give infinite stars, I WOULD!! When we return, you bet this will be the first place we come. Thank you so much to the wonderful people of this...
Read moreWe've spent a lot of time in Mexico and love the cuisine. This gem is one of the best Mexican kitchens we've ever been to - including the ones in Mexico.
The woman who runs this small shop (and we do mean small - very limited seating and easy to miss), cooks everything to order and knows her stuff. Her Birria Tacos are some of the best we've ever had, her enchiladas are generous and bursting with flavour, her gorditas are crispy and stuffed with delicious fillings, and her chili nachos (nachos are made fresh in-house every day) and guacamole are spectacular.
If you're spending any amount of time in Puerto Viejo this place should be on your must-visit list for sure. Highly...
