Wowee Zowee!! This place checks ALL the boxes...great location right across from the beach, easy to find and park, large varied menu of delicious hand made specialties, huge portions and very affordably priced! So.wonderful, I came for lunch 2x in 6 nights and both times I had enough leftovers to make dinner, too. My first meal was their signature oxtail stew and all the fixings and it was slow cooked, rich and very satisfying. Thank you for recommending and accommodating me, Wanda! My family and I just finished our dinner here and it was absolutely amazing! We chose the group order that came with 4 meats, plantains, tostones and French fries as well as the chicken fingers and had so much more than our family of 4 could eat! Everything was so mouth watering good. They picked limes from the tree next to us for my mojito (so good!) Definitely get the shrimp and chicken, the beef was great too and they didn’t have oxtail the night we came but it sounded promising too. The flavors were so good. We had dinner at Caribeño 1872 on Wednesday night. Perfect evening! We have learned that Caribbean servings are HUGE, so we shared a ceviche. It was incredible, mostly fish, not like Mexican ceviche, and served with crispy plantain chips. Then we had a traditional ox-tail stew with salad, plantain and fries. Best oxtail I’ve eaten ever (interesting spice that I’ve been unable to identify that made it perfect). We also tried three of the traditional Caribbean ginger fruit drinks and settled on Tamarind.
