Restaurante National Park — Restaurant in Cahuita

After finishing our walk through the national park (which was beautiful), we stopped here for a "quick" drink. Nearly 45 minutes passed before we received our drinks and there was only about 5 tables being served in the entire restaurant.

We later made the mistake of giving this place a second chance, as it is so conveniently located, and does have a great view. Once again, drinks took far too long to make it to our table. The food was also very disappointing. The quesadilla was just cheese and (what appeared to be) canned mushrooms, and the breaded fish was tough and tasted like it had been frozen (unacceptable when we are right on the coast and the meal wasn't exactly cheap).

During our entire service, our servers did not check on our table even once (aside from when bringing our orders). Instead, the servers all gathered in the middle of the dining area to chat while ignoring our attempts to gesture (politely) for service.

If you are leaving the park and looking for a place to grab a drink or a bite, walk just a little further down the road to any other restaurant. You may miss out on the view, but I guarantee you'll have a better experience. Review says 1/5, but this...

We simply ordered a cheese quesadilla for my wife. They said it had mozzarella on it. After it arrived, it had mushrooms as well. She brought me a menu (that we didn’t look at initially because we already told her what we wanted to order)showing that it had mushrooms.
