Horrible attention!! We were waiting for the menu, we were waiting around 25 minutes for 2 Americanos and one natural juice. People who came after us got their FOOD sooner than us our drinks. In the end the waiter bring our coffees to another guests, after while he realized it, took the coffees back to the bar and in the second he bring it to us… Such a comedy.

EDIT (after owner’s response): You read wrong - 20 minutes of waiting for 2 coffees and one juice. I completely understand that you have to protect your reputation and your employees, so you wrote that it is a lie. Actually, I can't be angry with you because of it. I just have something to think about. If you have cameras, then you have to see me watching your employee all the time, mistakenly giving two Americanos to two people, a moment after it taking them away (and later giving them the right coffee with milk) and exactly the same two Americanos we get in the second. As you said, I really don’t have reason to get your employees to problems for nothing. I’m quitting this useless conversation....

Food Quality: we only had a starter and it was quite good. A nice variety of different fried local food.

Portions: very nice portion size for a starter to share.

Drinks: variety of juices, soft drinks and other drinks.

Price: $$-$$$ range of good prices and some expensive items. But in general it didnt look too bad.

Service: servers seemed annoyed to serve and were not too friendly. Any question was answered with an attitude and not even sure if they spoke spanish too good as they couldnt understand some simple questions.

Atmosphere: nice location. Lots of different options from big tables inside, countertop seats, or even lounge chairs and tables. There was a dj, around 3pm, playing techno music very loud as if it were a rave. Not really the time or place for it.

Highlights: food looked good and the things we tried were good.

Things to improve: music would have been better if it was something latino or Caribbean to go with the mood and time of the place.

Payment...

After snorkeling at Cahuita National park the family were in need of some delicious sustenance, and that’s exactly what we got at Sol del Caribe. This place is soo cute and right by the beach as you sit and watch the beautiful people go by. Falcundo was our server and he went above and beyond with recommendations and omg the flavors were out of this world. The Mrs went for the mango margarita with a spiced rim and I went with my usual Classico. The older kids shared the surf and turf. The steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the sauce and shrimps on top were devoured. The Mrs and I had a fried snapper each done two ways. The Mango chillie coconut curry sauce had just the right amount of heat. Finger licking good, to the point where even the fish bones were left clean. 😋😂. Even the music had us swaying and eating at the same time. Our new #1 spot recommendation!! Chilled vibes finished with another...

I am really happy I discovered this place, so much so I've been for lunch twice in the last 3 days. The menu has a large variety of Caribbean-Asian fusion choices including vegetarian selections, too. All homemade and cooked to order. My first time I totally enjoyed their Thai red curry with shrimp and sides and today I chose their huge and tasty chicken casado plate with lemonade, all for only 5,000 colones. Their portions are ample, the service is warm and welcoming (thank you, Madison) and I was thrilled to discover they offer Happy Hour from 3-5 pm every day-two good cocktails for only 4,000 colones CAN'T BE BEAT! As Ahnold says, "ahl be baaaack!" Follow up, I enjoyed Sol del Caribe SO much I returned for a 3rd visit before I left town to drive up to La Fortuna and TOTALLY ENJOYED their Eggs Benedict for breakfast (only served until 11am, I believe)!
