Baya Baya | Café · Bar — Restaurant in Cahuita

I wasn't very impressed. The menu was provided via QR Code, but even using their wifi, the menu was slow to open and scroll. The menu just consists of text names and prices, without explanations or photos. For example one option was "A basket of pão de queijo". I clicked hoping for some description and it said "a basket containing pão de queijo".

I ordered a banana bread, but then almost immediately changed my mind and followed the waiter to the counter. I asked if I could change my order to pan de chocolate, and he said he'd already entered it into the system, and that I couldn't change my order now. I looked at him incredulously, and he stated it's already in the system, I'd have to cancel it. I continue standing there, and finally he said ok, I'll do it this time.

As for the food, my cappuccino was fine but the pan de chocolate wasn't great. It wasn't quite burned, but it was certainly overcooked...

Went here post beach workout and swim - smoothies were very good and reasonably priced. We also shared a burger and was very good - seemed to be a home made bun and real bacon. (Burger not pictured) Fries were good but not the best we’ve had in Puerto Viejo, but they were hot. Was about $28 USD for the two smoothies and one burger. We are more excited to come here for breakfast tomorrow because you could smell the home made croissants and cinnamon rolls. Will definitely be coming back tomorrow. Good place to work on your laptop.

UPDATE: Went back for breakfast and the croissants did not disappoint. Smoothies again were amazing and the bacon and egg sandwich was a 10/10!! Must stop for...

AMAZING! This restaurant might be my favorite part of Costa Rica!😂 Soooo yummy and I love the aesthetic and atmosphere. And a cool view of the beach waves across the street. We ordered so much food on the last day because we’ll miss it so much. I got a frozen chai tea with almond milk and caramel which was extremely sweet, just the way I like.
