Our dining experience at Padrino Pavas was nothing short of elegant and memorable. My spouse and I visited Costa Rica to celebrate our four-year anniversary, and after exploring several options, we decided on Italian cuisine. Based on reviews and menus, we came across Padrino Pavas, and we are so glad we did!

From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a charming Italian ambiance and a warm smile from our waitress, Jessica. She made us feel welcome right away, guiding us through the menu with great knowledge and enthusiasm. The menu itself was beautifully presented, with photos of each dish, making it easy to choose.

Jessica’s recommendations were spot-on. She took the time to explain the dishes in detail and ensured we had a full understanding of flavors and pairings. We ordered the lasagna, spinach ravioli with Bolognese sauce, and a half Padrino, half Four Cheese pizza—Jessica highly recommended the Padrino pizza, and the fresh arugula on top was a delightful surprise!

To accompany our meal, we enjoyed a Nutella cappuccino and one of their newest cocktails, the Aperol Spritz—a strong yet perfectly balanced drink. For dessert, we indulged in tiramisu and croccante, a delicious combination of chocolate and vanilla ice cream with a hard chocolate shell. It was the perfect way to end our meal.

To make the night even more special, Jessica surprised us with two drinks on the house. While we don’t recall their names, one had a refreshing lemon flavor, and the other featured amaretto with a delightful cherry-like aroma—we ended up liking that one the most! It was such a beautiful and thoughtful gesture that made our anniversary dinner even more memorable.

Hands down, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had together. If you're looking for exceptional Italian cuisine in Costa Rica, Padrino Pavas is a must-visit. My husband and I were in Costa Rica to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. We came to Il Padrino Pavas the night before catching a flight back home. We were so tired as we had just come back from the beach (a 5-hr drive) and were just looking for a place to grab dessert and a glass of wine to wind down within walking distance from our hotel. We thought we would just “swing by,” but it turned out to be one of our best experiences in Costa Rica! ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! I’m sitting at my table and felt the need to write this review right now … the amazing service started when we walked through the door … and it only got better. The food was to die for … prepared to perfection. And with a full bar, we drank some delicious beverages that we paired perfectly with our meal.
