The food, drinks, and service are so good I went back twice in the same week.
The food is without a doubt AMAZING. I had their dry aged steak along with their fries with some Parmesan and truffle and it was amazing. The appetizers of the scallops cremosa was BEYOND anything I have ever tasted. The second time around I had a risotto dish with 4 types of mushrooms topped with if I am not mistaken pecorino- this dish balances its self out with the insane umami of the shrooms and fatty salty cheese and grain cooked nicely. The flavors all work well together and you can tell they put care and effort into their craft. Desserts are ok, they are pretty good they hit the sweet tooth and take care of it if you have it.
I am not much of a drinker but this place has great cocktails and can sometimes be in the strong side (something I’m not used to but I am sure people love it.) and well my favorite was the Naranjo (sweet and strong...SPECTACULAR)! The other drink thats my fav is a coffee dessert brandy drink. Smooth, sweet, and a perfect pairing with the dessert.
Service is amazing super nice and super attentive. I was just one person and they cared for me like they would a group of 7 people. Always there and filling up my glasses, taking plates, and giving Recs.
Well worth whatever money you put down and it definitely is brother restaurant to Furca (the fancier restaurant next door which also is next level.)
I will probably make it a bi-weekly thing to go and treat myself to their dishes and warm...
Read moreI have a great admiration to Marco as a wonderful person and a great cook. Enjoyed his specials for my anniversaries and birthdays at Furca. Could not visit Nunc for a many reasons like travel, construction and Covid-19. So I was there this Saturday. What a nice, open, airy restaurant design. Just beautiful. I was a little bit disappointed when my first selection of a good USA Zinfandel and my second option for a great Argentinian Syrah was not available!! Why??? Settled down for a nice red from España and good Chardonnay from the USS for my wife. Is it hard to get wine from the distributors??? Then I noticed a very strong bass Caribbean music blasting away!! A beautiful serene set up with flowers and open air and a loud “ bum, bum”!!!Who the heck selected that music?? My wife and I needed to ask more then 5 times for them to put the music down. Salt cured salmon with yogurt and jumbo shrimp tempura was excellent. My wife’s file cut steak was charred outside and medium rare inside. She asked medium well. My order of scallops were not that good . For 21K colones 4 small scallops is a bad option. Would I go back to. Nunc? NO!! Marco needs to fix the problems But I...
Read moreThe pictures don't do the food justice. This was an exceptional dining experience close to La Sabana Park. We arrived without reservations and were told we'd have to wait 40 minutes. After about 5 minutes of sitting at the counter overlooking the kitchen, we were told we could eat right there and of course we took them up on the offer, admiring the staff preparing the food right in front of us, having a delicious cocktail and then enjoying an amazing dinner. Their sesame encrusted tuna with tzatziki sauce was one of the best pieces of tuna I've ever had. The T-bone steak was too big to even take a picture of, I kid you not. The extra salt that was provided was not necessary but a welcome detail. We ended up having a wonderful chat with the executive chef, Maurizio, who ended up having us try two new desserts he was working on. Service was exceptional and the offer to show us around the herb garden and their other restaurant, attached to the garden, was just that extra little detail that sets this restaurant apart from most other dining locations. Thank you for a fantastic meal...
