We vacationed 7 full days at Samara Beach. We chose to dine at Gusto Beach three of our seven suppers, as the other choices we we made were good, but not as good. They are on the beach and you will hear/see the ocean if you ask for a beach table. Reserve if you want to make sure. I lucked out on the wasabi tuna dish the first time and it was so good I ordered it every time. It was cooked to perfection. My wife had the Hawaiian pizza, mahi mahi, and penne pasta. She enjoyed each. We share bites, so I can also vouch for their goodness. Wait staff was on point and friendly with good recomendations. We were seated promptly without reservation each night. We usually arrived between 6-7 pm. I enjoyed the house pinot grigio. Each night had a different local musical talent playing and singing, starting at 6:30 or 7:00 p.m. "Like" the Sarama Visitors Ino page on Facebook for daily updates on performers and times. Side notes: We overtipped most of our stay, as there is already a 10% service charge. But the service was still deserving. The only down side is that one night we sat by the big/ tall beach bench. A family with a large group of children that they did not care to manage so others could also enjoy their vacation (really - one father actually said "I'm sorry you got a bad table next to our kids, but WE are on vacation"), took over the bench as though it were a playground right next to our table. So, just avoid the tables near the bench/boat in case rude people decide their fun trumps yours. No trump pun intended, but I wonder...? But that was not the fault of...
Read moreI wanted to make my sister’s birthday special even though I wasn’t there with her. She was staying at Gusto Beach Restaurant Pizzeria BnB in Costa Rica on June 1st, and I struggled to find any delivery service that could bring her flowers or a cake. So, I reached out to the restaurant via WhatsApp to see if they could help with a dessert delivery, and that’s when Simone from Gusto stepped in.
Simone was incredibly kind and went above and beyond by preparing a delicious brownie with ice cream, complete with “Happy Birthday” written on it. But the kindness didn’t stop there — everyone at the restaurant joined in to greet my sister, making her feel truly special. They even surprised her with complimentary drinks!
Thanks to Simone and the wonderful team at Gusto Beach Restaurant Pizzeria, my sister had an unforgettable birthday celebration. Their warmth and generosity made her day absolutely amazing. If you’re ever in Costa Rica and want not just great food but also heartfelt service, this is the place to be!
Thank you, Simone, and the entire team for turning a simple birthday into a...
Read moreMy wife and I were thankful last month to be able to enjoy eating dinners at Gusto Beach, which is located a very short, easy walk from the lovely Hotel Macao Beach, where we lodged. The restaurant was busy both evenings: I recommend that anyone who wants to dine at Gusto Beach reserve in advance a table, although we were fortunate to be seated without one. Our food was delicious and attractively presented; we finished one of the meals with a sublime dessert. The servers were personable, but the service was inconsistent: attentive the first evening and nearly absent the second, when we almost left after being seated and then ignored for fifteen minutes. Both evenings the restaurant staff seemed to be just getting the tables arranged, even though we arrived an hour after the start of the dinner period; the difference, I believe, was insufficient staff during our second visit.
A highlight of each of our meals was the live music provided. We enjoyed our experiences overall, and I have no doubt that we will attempt to dine at Gusto Beach again, if we are fortunate to visit Samara...
