Title: Mediocre Experience at a Breakfast Restaurant

Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5)

I recently visited a breakfast restaurant in town, hoping to start my day off with a tasty and satisfying meal. Unfortunately, my experience fell short of expectations. From the bland food to the indifferent service, my visit left much to be desired.

Let's start with the food. The dishes lacked the flavor and creativity one would expect from a breakfast establishment. Whether it was the scrambled eggs or the pancakes, everything seemed to lack that extra oomph that separates a memorable breakfast from an ordinary one. The flavors were disappointingly muted, leaving me feeling underwhelmed. It's a shame that the potential for a delicious morning meal was not fully realized in this establishment.

The service was another letdown. The servers appeared disinterested and lacked the genuine warmth and enthusiasm that one typically finds in breakfast joints. Their lackluster attitude translated into slow and inattentive service. I couldn't help but notice the absence of smiles and the general lack of engagement with customers. It's important for servers to exude positivity and friendliness, especially during breakfast service, as it sets the tone for the rest of the day.

On a positive note, the coffee was the saving grace of this visit. It was rich, aromatic, and served piping hot. The coffee provided a much-needed boost to my morning, and I appreciated the effort put into this aspect of the breakfast experience.

In conclusion, my visit to this breakfast restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While the coffee was exceptional, the rest of the experience fell short. The lack of flavor in the food and the unenthusiastic service detracted from what could have been a delightful breakfast outing. I hope the management takes note of these areas for improvement, as there is great potential for this restaurant to become a go-to breakfast spot with a few...

Horrible experience. Ordered many tacos, I confirmed with the waitress that I was ordering vegetable tacos. I am lactose intolerant. When the tacos arrived, they were covered in cheese. I told the server that I was lactose intolerant, she told me she could try to remove the cheese from the vegetables in the tacos. However, the cheese was morphed into the vegetables. If I ate that I would have a full blown allergic reaction. She didn’t even offer to keep the tortillas and just grilled veggies without any cheese. This is dangerous and extremely disrespectful. I do not recommend to go here AT ALL. She told me I could give the tacos to somebody else. Didn’t offer another solution and still charged me all of the food even tho I didn’t even eat it or touch it and I’m allergic to it. The tacos were given back to the restaurant and they still took my money. They basically stole money from me. Didn’t consume any of their products besides the drink which I gladly paid for because I got to try it. Meanwhile they kept the tacos and still charged me for something I didn’t even consume and was...

My family and I stumbled upon this hidden gem after surfing at Tamarindo Beach. We’ve been coning down to Costa Rica for years now.

Situated in an alley in downtown, the bakery has a small but delightful breakfast and lunch menu. We tried the Ham & Eggs Croissant, Fruit Pancakes, Avocado Toast & my personal favorite - The Fish Taco plate.

The fish tacos were the best I’ve ever had…no really. The plate was colorful and inviting with just the perfect mix of ingredients. The mahi mahi was perfectly cooked, the pickled cabbage was bright and provided perfect texture.

All of the dishes were wonderfully presented. We sat under shaded umbrellas with lovely potted plants next to us. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere evoked a sense of tranquility.

I highly recommend the Sol Bakery and Cafe to anyone looking for breakfast or brunch. This is my first restaurant review, I’m so grateful that it was done in...

So normally with so many restaurants at a vacation destination I never go to one twice but Sol Bakery has been my one exception. I have eaten here every day for the past 3 days and today will be day 4. I have NEVER done that before but this place is hands down the best place I've eaten at in Tamarindo. I've tried something new each day and have not been disappointed yet and don't envision that ever happening. I have 2 more days in Tamarindo and plan on eating here both days and trust me, I work for the largest food distributor in the world so I eat at restaurants multiple times a week at least 26 weeks of the year so I know what I'm talking about. Almond croissant, AMAZING Classic Eggs Benedict, AMAZING Tico Breakfast, AMAZING Croche Madame, AMAZING French Toast, AMAZING Iced Chai Latte, AMAZING Strawberry Smoothie, AMAZING Pineapple Mint Smoothie, AMAZING Pear Bread Pudding, AMAZING Just WOW!

Sol Bakery was a delightful surprise...and easily one of my favorite food finds in Costa Rica. It’s a small, no-frills bakery, and yes, it was definitely warm inside the day we visited, but oh my goodness was it worth it. The almond croissant I had was truly out of this world; crispy, buttery, and perfectly filled. I’ve traveled through Europe and had a lot of pastries, but this one might just take the cake (or croissant?). The iced coffee was refreshing and served with a cute little flower that made me smile. We tried a few other pastries and were equally impressed. I only wish we had found this place earlier in our trip because I would’ve gone back every morning. A must-visit if you’re anywhere nearby!
