Wabi Sabi — Restaurant in Tamarindo

From the reviews I read, I thought I was going to try the best sushi of my life. The sushi was good but not crazy good, and looking into it at a price for value perspective the place seems overpriced, specially the nigiri and some of the 7.000 colons rolls (this compared to other offerings you can find in Tamarindo). Either way, the sushi was enjoyable. The spicy tuna was pretty good (and more fairly priced) and the Toki roll (shrimp tempura) too. The ebi shrimp lemon roll was not really good. The Miso was probably the best I’ve ever had and the passion fruit /ginger/ mint smoothie was amazing. You don’t really taste the mint or ginger as it’s extremely subtle. I got the spicy tuna roll, which was also very good. My wife got the chicken teriyaki bowl stating it’s the best she’s ever had. There is a uniqueness about the food, which I have not found other sushi restaurants back in the United States. The owner was super friendly also! The place is small and not fancy but the food was great. I highly recommend trying...

This experience was amazing from start to finish. We were seated promptly by very friendly staff members. We ordered the tropical tuna tartar and it came out in a timely fashion and was absolutely incredible. We had 4 more rolls following the tartar, each spaced out with some time in-between to digest and enjoy. Not only were the rolls delicious, the ginger was pickled in house and was simply amazing.
