Cafeteria Anfora — Restaurant in Uruca

The setting was pleasant. Food quality was very good. Prices were reasonable. Service however, was inconsistent.

I found the morning/afternoon staff to be very attentive. They were quick to get me a menu, ask if I would like coffee, take my order, and even refill my coffee. The evening dining experience was different. It took a while to be given a menu and when it came to ordering another item (lE: a glass of wine), I had to really try hard to get the attention of a server. As a businessman, I found this interesting since customers are likely to spend much more for evening meals; additional servings of wine would also yield good profits.

I don’t usually write reviews but my experience was bad here: we were only two tables (4h30 pm) and it took 2h to get food that was not good for the price. They also didn’t mention that they were out of the dish that I ordered. So after 1h30 of waiting, they served me the “wrong” meal.. they apologized after I argued that I didn’t want to have this other meal… I ordered something else from the menu and got it another...

Our dinner was perfect. The lomo palomillo beef tenderloin was cooked to medium well perfection and paired with a delicious wine sauce. Homemade mashed potatoes, delicious and perfect. Thinly julienned vegetables, delicious and perfect. Freshly squeezed lemonade, refreshing and perfect. Our server, Tania, made excellent recommendations and was pleasant...
