St. Lawrence Church and Monastery — Restaurant in Grad Šibenik

Hmm, my experience was slightly different to some of the others below. Service was „quite ok“, so nothing to complain here. Unfortunately, like some other commentator wrote below, they are unfriendly to kids. We had the issue that our son fell into the little fountain that’s in the center of the garden. And yes, this was our fault. I try to educate my child and expect from him and from me a certain behavior. But things happen, and unfortunately my son slipped and fell into the water. Nothing dramatic, and, again, yes this was our fault. However, one of the service personnel reacted pretty harsh to it, don’t want to go into detail there. Was not… „nice“. So my conclusion is to not go there again. This is sad, as the other service and also the food was in order. But the reaction of this one person… not again. Sorry for this. If this is too much, then change...

Do not waste your time walking up the stairs. Rather visit St. James Cathedral or enjoy walk by the sea.

Nice small garden situated in a labyrinth of narrow streets. The entrance fee is 3€ per person or you order something. We decided to stay as it was lunch time and we had 4kids with us (1-6years). Stating ‘restaurant’ they had no food. We ordered espressos as we were tired and wanted to rest anyway. The attendant said we cannont block table with espressos and wanted us to pay entrance fee for the rest of the group (=children). There were at least 6 other free tables. She was very unpleasant. As of now, the garden is sort of owned by a cafe and one cannot enter the garden without paying 3 Euro per person to the cafe OR buying something. This looks a bit weird, because you can't know this until you climb upstairs to the garden. The garden itself is cute, but really tiny, the fee of 3 euro and this cafe situation is a bit funny honestly. Alternatively, you can buy an ice cream for 2.5 Euro per person and also enter the garden, because then you're sort of cafe visitor. I guess this cafe idea won't survive very long. Basically the garden right now is not worth...
