Restoran "Mamma Mia" Zadar — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

I went there for lunch, about 12.30 right after they opened. Think there 3 other guys having pizza in the garden section. We ordered a tuna steak (110 kune) and lamb chop (110 kune). We ordered medium rare for both dishes. And tuna steak was well done and lamb chops, 5 pieces, ranged from rare to medium. The julienne (which was hard to call it as julienne since it was 3 times thicker) vegetables of carrot, zucchini, red and yellow pepers was soaked in oil. It seemed that the vegetables were cooked before the tuna and lamb was ready to be served. The crispness were gone and the serving plate was cold when served. Mind that we were sitting outside in the garden the food gets colder much faster of course. I was surprised that they chose to keep the dark piece on the tuna and served it! Normally you cut it away since it it is not tasty at all and bitter. I colleague of mine recommended this place to me and said he went there twice cause of good food. I can't say I wanna go back again or recommend this place to others. They seem to know the basics of cooking there, but they got lazy or don't care anymore. Seasoning of the food was poor, too little s.alt and pepper. A big plus was the linnen napkin and the service is kind. I'd say price level is cheep to middle range for Mamma Mia. I'd expected more. Perhaps the pizzas and pasta might be a better option, but I'm not going to...

The only good point was that the food was very good. Otherwise, the service was terrible! The only table was the only table where the light did not reach. The waitress who seated us did not bring a menu. Someone else saw we were waiting and brought one over after waiting a bit. Nobody saw that we hadn't given our order, but a waiter saw after serving someone else who arrived after us. Wine was not in the menu, but they serve it, you don't know what they have or the price. When the meal came, the pizza almost ended up in my boyfriend's lap, but he saved it from falling. We didn't have any cutlery and our food was getting cold (I had rump steak) after 5 minutes we told a waitress. Afterwards the waiter brought the cutlery after a long time. The food was great. To get the bill we had to ask a waitress passing by. She took our plates, but scolded me for not finishing the pasta that came with the rump steak. At least for 500ml of wine they only charged 2 glasses, but no explanation. We didn't leave...

Restaurant is very nice and was very enjoyable to sit and had dinner there.

There is enough room besides tables to have private talks and to have comfort. Inside and outside is very nice. During summer I recommend to dine outside as when we came in there was no air conditioning on and inside was to warm for us. But thankfully when we asked can we be moved out when table get free, they done that instantly when opportunity came and we had luck to dine outside.

My pizza was very good and I loved every bit of it, same like my wife. We both enjoyed it and would come back again definitely.

Service was polite from both waiters we had and girls done there job very good.

It was only sad that they don't have option to tip waiters while paying with card,only cash that we unfortunately didn't had as we came to Zadar yesterday and didn't had time to get some...
