Capo Grill Zadar — Restaurant in Grad Zadar

Update 2025 We had steak here 2 times this year...both times we asked for rare and got medium cooked strak. What is going on?? This is our go to place for steak in zadar because the meat quality is excellent so I am really hoping the chef will get better at judging when to take the steak off the grill. To me personally, the steak experience is not the same if its not red inside. P.s. thank you for the free pancakes which we got due to our lack of satisfaction with the steak. The pancakes are so amazingly good. And the waiters are all really nice.

2024 We had a tuna steak and đevrek. The tuna steak was perfectly seared and the meat quality of the đevrek was really good. Service was excellent. Overall great food at acceptable prices! Im really impressed and surprised and I hope nothing changes.

2024 (one year later) we came back for steak. We use to come here every year when it was called Max grill for steak. I came here twice and all in all I was satisfied. The price of draft beer is cheaper than elsewhere, and the price-performance ratio over all I rate as good to very good. Some dishes can/must be supplemented with individual side dishes, what’s not so bad. However, with the 'Pljeskavica sa Sirom' (minced beef steak with cheese), I expected roasted onions instead of raw ones, but I am no connoisseur of Croatian cuisine. The genuine Vienna VEAL Schnitzel, I found to be slightly overdone (perhaps it was deep-fried and not slow baked in butter), but that was still tolerable. The quality of service varies depending on the waiter and how busy the restaurant is. On my first visit, the stocky waiter served my dish without cutlery and disappeared in a hurry, althoug it wasn't busy at this time. On my second visit the slim waiter did a perfect job, despite the Restaurant was quite full. I can only recommend and praise this restaurant and its staff. I was made aware online about Capo and wanted to take my family out for dinner here while having vacation in Croatia. As a former Bosnian resident, I am aware of the cuisine but was very curious in Capo's preparations. From the moment we stepped in we were welcomed in a warm and friendly atmosphere and we enjoyed every minute of it. The food was absolutely amazing, we had the Capo platter for 2 (while being with 2 kids too) with various meats and they were juicy, hot and very tasty. The sides were fantastic too (beans and potatoes) as well as the salad. All in all plenty of good food and enough for all.
